Chapter 35 - 35. Zara

"You look good," Linda smiles so hard her cheeks are probably hurting, and it looks lopsided. She has been smoothing the crease on the fabric for the past few minutes, claiming she wants everything to be perfect.

"Let go," I command. Her fingers are so warm, reminding me of his—how he caressed and worshipped my existence with the utmost care in the world.

My nerves are jittery, my fingers cold against the metallic doorknob, and my breath is uneven.

I'm doing this.

I can't close my eyes because his prey lips and forest-green eyes stare right back at me, even in my imagination.

"What's it going to look like?" I ask, watching Linda's retreating figure. She had come in early this morning—Lily still refuses to see me—and dressed me up in the gorgeous gown she dropped off last night. Not only that, but we had conversations too. I got to know her mom was an Omega who was mated to an Alpha.

"Hell." She smiles politely and walks away, her apron swaying.
