Chapter 30 - Veran’s Broken Soul and Raigor’s Journey

The victory over the Puppet Master had not brought peace. The world still trembled, as if an invisible threat was preparing to strike.

And Veran… was gone.

Or at least, not entirely.

Veran's Broken Soul

When Veran had sacrificed his life to destroy the Puppet Master, his soul had gone neither to the afterlife nor to the cycle of reincarnation.

It had been broken.

Fragmented into pieces and scattered across time and space, as if a dark force had prevented its return.

Raigor, kneeling before the remains of the Puppet Master's palace, still felt the echo of his presence. But it was incomplete.

Raigor's Decision

Raigor could not accept it. Not this time.

He had lost Veran too many times.

If his soul was scattered, the only solution was to find its pieces and reassemble it.

But first, he had to keep it from scattering even further.

Raigor used the mystical chains he had obtained during his second trial from the Divine Physician.

Soul chains, capable of holding that which is invisible to mortal eyes.

He threw them into the void and anchored them to reality, feeling the resistance of something… something far away and broken.

Veran's soul was chained, but not yet safe.

Now he had to find where its fragments were.

The Temple of the Sage

Raigor decided to set out for the Temple of the Sage, an ancient sanctuary where it was said that time itself was only an illusion.

There, the monks and the Sage of Vision could see beyond the veil of reality.

If anyone could tell him where to look for Veran's pieces, it was him.

The Quest Begins

As Raigor began his journey, something watched in the shadows.

The Shadow Behind the Throne knew.

He knew that Veran was not completely dead. And he knew that Raigor would not stop until he brought him back.

He could not let that happen.
