The next day Edward barged into Nathaniels office with a tab in his hands. "Have you seen the latest news?" He asked.
"What news? And why did you barge into my office like that. Don't you know I'm working unlike you who doesn't have any work to do" Nathaniel said.
"If not that you're my friend and I'm used to your antics I would have definitely gotten angry. Well we'll settle the scores another day. Quick! Check the headlines on the news" he said as he passed the tab to Nathaniel.
Nathaniel huffed and took the tab from him. His eyes widened as he saw the headlines on the news "STONE JADE PALACE SUES VANITY FAIR HOUSE OVER SLANDER"
He scrolled down and all the news tab carried the same news. "VANITY FAIR HOUSE TO APPEAR BEFORE COURT TOMORROW OVER ALLEGATIONS ON SLANDER".
Nathaniel read the news and stretched back the tab to Edward. "So this is why you rushed all the way to my office" he said coldly.
Edward face grew livid as he punched his fists in the air out of frustration. "I don't know what is wrong with you. How could you remain still and indifferent after seeing this. This is your wife's company we are talking about"
"You have always known me to be like this. How about you worry about finding your mystery lady instead of making a fuss over my wife's affairs."
As soon as Edward's heard that, he calmed down and sat on the chair in the office. He looked somber as if he was reminiscing on something.
Just then a man in a white plain shirt and black top walked into Nathaniels office. He looked simple but by looking at his clothes carefully, you could tell that they were all designer brand and that he was no small person.
The man looked handsome with a sharp haircut and a nicely groomed beards. He gave off the aura of a rich businessman man. He looked over at Edward who was lost in his own thoughts and sighed as he pulled a chir from the corner of the rooms and sat in front of the Nathaniel.
"What did you do to our Edward to make him mope like that" he asked looking at Nathaniel.
"Nothing! Just told him the truth" he shrugged.
"How many times do I have to tell you that the mystery woman is a sensitive topic for Edward. Well! You clearly do not have filter in your words, so what was I expecting"
Nathaniel said nothing as he picked up a piece of documents and continued working.
Just then Nathaniel's Secretary Justin came into the room carrying a basket of gifts in his hands. He looked over at the man who had just entered and nodded at him as he dropped the gifts in a corner in the room and left.
Nathaniel looked up at the gifts and sighed. "What is the meaning of these gifts Jonathan?"
"Just a gift for a friend who is now a married man. Do tell me. You never thought of revealing your marriage to your friends, no?"
"Yes that is correct"
"And why so if I may ask?"
"The decision was not up to me. I promised to do so as my wife had asked"
Jonathan chuckled as he could not believe what he was hearing. "Did you hear what I just heard?" he said as he looked at Edward. "Our Nathaniel is now taking orders from his wife".
By this time Edward had come out of moping and chipped in "it appears so. It also turns out that sister-in-law is quite interesting as well".
"How so?"
"Have you heard of the latest news recently?"
"Is it the news about the scandal on the Stone Jade Palace Company?"
"Yes it is"
"What about it?" Jonathan asked. Suddenly he realized something and asked "Don't tell me that sister-in-law is connected to that".
"Right on spot! Our Sister-in-law just took over the Stone Jade Palace Company and the scandal is because of internal conflicts in the company"
"Is that so? What aren't you doing anything about it? Jonathan asked as he turned to look Nathaniel.
"You too? You're getting nosy these days"
"Why wouldn't I when this piece of juicy information just landed in front of me. If anything at all, I never thought that you of all people would be the first to get married. Now here you are with a wife who is making headlines with her company. Wait till David hears this".
"Do not disturb David with such news. You know he needs to focus on what he is doing. It's not everyday one has the chance to fulfil his dream".
"Don't change the subject" Edward interjected. "Tell us why you haven't helped sister-in-law."
"We signed an agreement not to be involved in each other's business. I very much like my company and I would like to keep it"
"A contract marriage huh? I thought that only happened in the movies" Nathaniel commented.
"That would not stop us her brother-in-law's from helping her right? Atleast she didn't sign the agreement with us." Nathaniel asked.
"And I didn't think of it earlier" Edward said as he hit his hand on his head dramatically.
"This geezer would not allow me and when I reasoned with him it makes sense. We don't know sister-in-law well enough to help her. I met her a few days ago and she avoided me like a plague. She won't take help from us. The only one who can help her is Nathaniel and he is not bothered to do anything."
"Then we would have to see if sister-in-law is really capable then" Jonathan said as he got up to leave.
Nathaniel looked at him in surprise as he wondered why he was leaving so soon. "Don't think I don't have work to do like Edward. I also have a company to run. Make sure my gifts reach sister-in-law"
"You should bring her to meet us sometimes since we are already aware of her. I hope that when she can't handle it, you'd be ready to help her. Although I'd love to see how far your lack of emotion can get"
With that he left the office. Edward stood up almost immediately and Nathaniel raised a brow at him.
"Don't look at me look like that. I also have work to do too. Just because I'm not as hardworking as you doesn't me I don't work. Greet sister-in-law for me. And please go home after today. You are now a married man".
Nathaniel quickly dialed someone's line as soon as Edward left.
"I hope you have prepared what I asked you to do?"
"Yes I have. It seems someone is also searching for it too"
"Let them have it!"
"Huh?"
"I said let them have it. Leave it in a place they would be able to find. That is what I wanted you to do"
"As you say so" the person replied and hung up the call.
He picked his second phone and opened to a picture of him in a black suit and a lady in a dress "You must be really confident of wining for you to have filed a counter suit and request for it to be done early."
"What evidence have you gathered?"
