Third Person POV
"Show me what you really are."
Lucian stared at her, surprise flickering across his features. For a moment, the words didn't register, before understanding dawned.
She must have seen Damien. The realization sent a chill through him.
"Let's get out of here, Selene." His voice was carefully controlled. They were still in the open, and he couldn't risk anyone seeing him touch or comfort her, and draw their own conclusions about a professor and his student.
He drove them away from campus, winding through familiar streets before turning onto the narrow road that led into the dense woods surrounding the town. Selene sat quietly beside him, her eyes tracking the changing landscape outside her window, the way civilization gradually gave way to wilderness. He could tell she was tense. Thinking. Absorbing.
"Where are we going?" she asked
"Home." he said simply.
