I did not realize how far I had slept into the day until I woke up, and then saw the sun's brightness peeking into the bedroom through the curtain on the window. There's no way I had slept through the alarm, or did I?
Leonard's side of the bed was empty, I noted, and pushed the thought aside, alongside the sadness that was beginning to crawl into me. He left for the office already even though I had suggested otherwise. It was exactly one week since the survivors of Cathy's group were killed by Leonard's men, and Idris' parents rescued from their custody. It was a perfect time to rest from the office, and heal totally but Leonard obviously did not think so.
Although he had stayed back home most of the days last week, he obviously had no intention to do the same this week, and even though I wouldn't admit it to him, I wasn't happy with his decision.
I stayed up in bed, brooding for a while before pushing myself up, and heading for the bathroom.
