Chapter 620: Imu Dies, Lilith Appears!
Kobayashi's eyes widened as Imu charged her head on.
Given the energy Kobayashi had just released, Imu should have been the one hit the hardest.
Roy was clearly restrained because of the Imu energy inside him.
So why was Imu acting like nothing was happening?
"Only the body is left… just a puppet," Kobayashi murmured.
She raised a hand and caught Imu's strike cleanly.

Before Kobayashi could fully process it, Imu suddenly tightened her grip with those claws. The surge of force was vicious, unnatural.
Kobayashi was blasted backward, sent flying.
She steadied herself, lifted her hand, and stared at the fresh wound across her skin, the cut clearly carved by sheer brute strength.
"Dragon taming… ineffective?"
Her brow furrowed.
Even if Imu was only a body now, could she really ignore Kobayashi's power completely?
Roy, on the other hand, had been suppressed just a moment ago.
Yet Imu had broken through and knocked Kobayashi away like it meant nothing.
"Hahahaha…"
Roy's laughter spilled out, sharp and smug.
"So this is the power you look down on."
"When you talk that big, you should think carefully about the consequences."
"Since you despise this power so much, then use your own power to defeat us!"
Because Kobayashi had been injured, her dragon taming pressure shattered and dispersed.
The oppressive force vanished.
Roy finally felt his body loosen again.
He was free.
It had to be said, Kobayashi's earlier suppression was terrifyingly unfair. Roy was not even a dragon, only a man who carried part of Imu's aura, and that alone had nearly crushed him in battle.
If Imu had not forced Kobayashi back and broken that pressure, Roy suspected he would already be dead.
Kobayashi looked at him as if watching a child celebrate stealing a coin.
"Ants who borrow power from others always get drunk on victories that were never theirs."
"Fine."
"I won't hold back anymore."
Her aura changed again.
Blood red mist seeped from those scarlet pupils, curling like smoke from a wound.
Kanna swallowed, her expression tightening.
"Is Kobayashi going to use that move?"
"Honestly, even now… sensing that aura still feels terrifying."
Tohru nodded with the same seriousness.
"Kobayashi… this is scary."
Roy's smugness evaporated.
His pupils shrank.
He realized he could not move.
His body refused to obey, as if invisible shackles had locked his limbs in place.
Imu moved instantly, stepping in front of Roy to shield him.
Kobayashi's voice was cold and flat.
"He sacrificed your soul and body to that so called god in exchange for his own power."
"And after all that… you still choose to protect him?"
"How pathetic."
She stepped forward.
One step.
And she was already in front of Imu.
Facing the dragon form, Kobayashi placed her hand directly on Imu's head.
In the next instant, Imu's Uranus form collapsed and shrank, returning to a human shape.
Kobayashi's palm remained on her head.
"I know you still have a little obsession left."
"But you don't need to cling to it anymore."
"End it here."
Power surged.
Imu turned into dust and vanished, scattering into the air.
All that remained was a single bead.
Kobayashi stared at it, puzzled.
"Is this the source of the Uranus power?"
Something like this might still be useful.
Nojiko on their ship carried the blood of Imu. If she could absorb this, it might help her.
Kobayashi closed her fingers around the bead.
"I'll accept what you left behind."
"And I'll deal with him for you too."
She raised her head, eyes locking onto Roy.
Roy's face twisted, showing a flicker of regret.
Not grief.
Just regret.
To him, Imu had always been a tool.
Even if there had once been some relationship, that was in the past.
Roy no longer cared about Imu.
And if he could use Imu's soul to trade for power with Lilith, then it only proved one thing.
Besides Imu, Roy had no one else he could truly treat as precious.
That was why the sacrifice worked.
"You can die too," Kobayashi said.
Before Roy could even inhale, Kobayashi was already in front of him.
She lifted her hand.
Roy's mind went blank.
Fear drowned everything.
"Let's not go that far."
A woman's voice cut in like a blade.
"The captain of the Dragon Hunter Pirates' Fifth Division, right?"
"My people aren't someone you can kill whenever you feel like it."
A woman appeared between them.
The aura rolling off her was of the exact same origin as Roy's power.
"Lilith?"
Kobayashi withdrew her hand and studied her.
"The real body? You don't look that powerful."
Even so, Kobayashi knew the truth immediately.
If she had continued that strike, she would have been seriously injured by this woman.
It was instinct.
"I'm only a projection," Lilith replied calmly.
"But last time, my main body lost a projection, so I had to come out and retrieve it."
"Even if my mission target isn't your Dragon Hunter Pirates, I won't stand by and watch you kill my people so easily."
Her gaze shifted to Roy.
"Can I take him away?"
Kobayashi touched her chin, thinking.
"Troublesome."
"But I don't want you taking him that easily."
"As the captain of the Dragon Hunter Pirates, I still want to fight you."
She extended her hand toward Lilith, steady and fearless.
"Come."
Lilith's eyes narrowed.
"So we still have to fight."
"Fine."
"Let's see just how strong this so called Dragon Hunter Pirates really are."
As she finished speaking, an A T force field expanded around them, locking the space into her control.
She alone released that pressure.
Bang!
Kobayashi threw a punch.
Lilith caught it perfectly.
The immense force was neutralized, swallowed by a strange energy that canceled power itself.
Lilith's tone remained almost polite.
"I forgot to tell you."
"If you can't kill me directly…"
"Your attacks won't work."
"And they will become my strength."
A familiar aura erupted from Lilith's hands.
It was Kobayashi's own attack, returned.

"Counterattack?" Kobayashi muttered.

"But the increase isn't as big as the captain's."
She grabbed her broken arm and shoved it back into place.
