BOOOOOM!
A terrifying shockwave erupted from the point where the stream of water and the beam of fire met, sweeping past both Seimei and Tobirama.
Their snow-white and silver hairs danced wildly as they pushed more chakra into their Ninjutsu.
While they looked completely unaffected by the shockwave, the trees, branches, leaves, and the ground around them were charred, broken, slashed, and cracked.
The combined force of the shockwaves, high-pressure water, and scorching heat of the fiery beam almost created a small-time apocalyptic scene within twenty meters around Seimei and Tobirama.
Both the fire and the water countered each other. And in a couple of seconds, misty steam was formed because of the collision of their Jutsu.
Thick, misty steam quickly enveloped both of them in its veil, then expanded to cover an area of a hundred and twenty meters in diameter, completely obscuring the view and making it almost impossible to see more than one or two meters.
Even those possessing Sharingan would find it tough to observe anything that was more than five meters away in such an environment.
But for Seimei, who had Tenseigan, such an environment was perfect for catching the enemy off guard and ambushing them. After all, Tenseigan's X-ray vision allowed him to see through the veil of mist.
And that was exactly what he did.
Without wasting any more time, Seimei quickly grabbed ten kunai and threw them at Tobirama, who had his vision obscured.
A few of them even have his unique Flying Thunder God Mark. Even if Tobirama dodged his kunai or deflected them, he could still teleport beside his father and launch a surprise attack.
But was Tobirama, who was more cunning than a demon fox, someone who you could catch off guard easily?
Tobirama smirked and unleashed his chakra to exert more control over the microscopic water particles that formed the misty steam.
Water Release: Water Sensing Technique
The moment he activated the technique, he could vividly sense the position and movement of every object, tree, rock, and living being with ease.
Although the misty steam was infused with the chaotic mix of chakra originating from both of them, Tobirama, whose Water nature affinity far exceeded Seimei's LV7, easily took control over the water vapor in the air, making them act like microscopic spies for him.
The mist that was supposed to obscure his vision and obstruct his chakra sensing became his most intimate ally.
Naturally, he sensed Seimei throwing the kunai, as well as the incoming barrage of kunai charging at him like arrows.
Hurling Kunai through the misty steam, huh? Probably marked with his Flying Thunder God Mark, too.
Although I can clearly see through the trick, why is this move giving me a sense of deja vu?
Even though a random thought occupied Tobirama's mind, his hands didn't slow at all.
He grabbed a few shuriken from his own sealing bracelet and hurled them at the kunai that were directly targeting his body parts.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
Shuriken intercepted seven kunai in the air, halting their advances. All of those kunai were targeting Tobirama's body.
While the intercepted kunai clattered on the ground, the other three flew past Tobirama harmlessly.
But Tobirama didn't let his guard down.
And sure enough, the moment those three kunai passed by him, he immediately sensed spatial fluctuations coming from one of them.
At the same time, he had also sensed another spatial fluctuation from Seimei's position, before sensing his presence vanish.
Tobirama grabbed a kunai in the blink of an eye and turned around.
Right at that moment, Seimei reappeared beside one of the flying kunai, grabbed it the moment his feet touched the ground, channeled lightning chakra through it, and slashed it toward Tobirama.
Seeing the tiny arcs of purple lightning snaking across Seimei's kunai, Tobirama also infused his own with wind chakra and swung it to intercept Seimei's kunai.
Clang! Crackle!
Metal met metal with astonishing force, sending gusts of wind and arcs of lightning flying around them.
At the same time, Tobirama's eyes flashed with a look of realization.
Now I understand what gave me that feeling of deja vu. Creating mist after the clash of Fire Release and Water Release Ninjutsu, and then throwing kunai marked with my Flying Thunder God Mark in such an obscure environment…
Wasn't that how I killed that evil Uchiha…cough…Uchiha Izuna in the past?
My boy, aren't you ashamed to use your father's old trick on him? Then again, you did that instinctively. After all, how would you know about it? You weren't even born.
But your battle instincts have indeed improved. Show me more, Seimei.
Tobirama thought inwardly as their kunai separated.
But this was just the beginning of their close combat clash.
Clang! Clang! Cling! Clang! Clang!
Both Seimei and Tobirama kept swinging their kunai, trying to draw blood from the other party. Their hands moved so fast that it looked like a blur.
In less than five seconds, their kunai clashed several dozen times.
Cling!
After one more clash of kunai, Seimei finally detected a gap in his father's defense and decided to go for it.
Seimei thrust the tip of his kunai at Tobirama's throat.
But Tobirama easily dodged by shifting his body sideways.
Then, not wanting to give Seimei even a brief moment to breathe, he instantly followed up with a roundhouse kick toward Seimei's ribs.
The force behind the kick was so tremendous that the air sharply whistled around Tobirama's leg. If a normal, full-fledged Jonin took the hit, that person's bones would be crushed.
While Seimei could withstand the kick, it would still rattle his bones.
So, he wisely jumped back, pulling his body out of the kick's range.
Seeing Seimei retreating, Tobirama threw his kunai at Seimei. The kunai's tip was targeting the right side of Seimei's chest.
At first, Seimei wanted to move his body sideways, allowing the kunai to pass by him harmlessly.
But his instincts immediately screamed at him.
His years of battle experience and his familiarity with his father's tactics told him that he was about to fall into his trap.
So, instead of dodging, he activated the Body Flicker Technique and swiftly disappeared from his spot, leaving a blurry afterimage of his figure that vanished as soon as the kunai passed through it.
Right at that moment, Tobirama's figure suddenly came into existence out of nowhere, and he grabbed the handle of his kunai.
Seeing no sign of Seimei, Tobirama was about to look for him when he suddenly noticed one of Seimei's kunai was slowly spinning in the air as it was falling due to gravity.
But before he could react to the falling kunai, Seimei's figure immediately teleported beside him.
His right hand carried a basketball-sized, blue, spherical mass of rotating chakra, ready to tear apart anything it touched with violent force.
Rasengan!
And Seimei pushed the hand carrying the Rasengan toward Tobirama's stomach.
