Luca's POV
Alex and I were back in the huge shopping place. "We need to see the camera footage," Alex said to the cashier at a nearby shop, his voice hard. "We lost something."
The cashier, a young woman, looked nervous. "I'm sorry, sir. We can't show that to customers."
Alex's face went red. He looked like he was about to explode. I could feel his power, the force that made people do what he wanted. He was about to make a big problem.
"Alex," I said, putting my hand on his arm. "We're in the human world. We can't do that here."
He looked at me, his eyes full of anger. He wanted to use his power, to make them show him the video. But he knew I was right. In this world, we had to follow their rules.
"She's my mate," I told him. "We'll find her again. Fate will make sure of it."
Alex took a deep breath. He was still angry, but he was trying to control himself. "Fine," he said, his voice low. "But we're not waiting. We're finding her now."
