When Arthur got onto his feet he noticed a rusty sword to his side. He picked it up, and examined it.

'Onto a great start…'
Arthur sighed and looked at his status window. Somehow, Chris had became his own character in a video game. But something was different about Arthur. He no longer had silky smooth golden hair and piercing blue eyes. Instead his hair was a pure silver in color. And his eyes as red as blood. With black slits down the middle replacing where his pupils would've been.
'I guess I've really also become a demon then as well…hm, whats this?'
Jack looked at his exp bar and noticed he was already at max level. But that shouldn't be possible. He was only level 1. Obviously, he should be able to level up past level 1. But it seemed like his character was locked at level 1. And he was refused answers by the system. He sighed and picked up the rusty sword and sheath. Strapping it around his shoulder.
'Well…can't really do anything about it so. Might as well go along with it.'
As he just stood there. Awkwardly staring at himself in the status window. He heard a loud notification. Ringing in his ears and throughout the area.
[Bug detected! Cleansing area!]
That's when he saw it. An immeasurable ray of nothingness cleansing over the area. That's when he ran. He had seen it before. It was the insta kill zone. Basically, the place you would go if you fell through the map. Somehow, the kill zone saw him as a bug. So it was going to kill him.
'Shit! I have no clue if I'll respawn…I better just run…'
Arthur took off into a sprint. Despite his stats being abysmally low. The body of a demon still gave him an extreme advantage. He was able to quickly outrun the kill zone before it got to him.
[Bug cleansed! Restoring system!]
He had realized it then.
'Oh…I wasn't the bug…it must've been that place still existing. I'm pretty sure Morgan destroyed it. I don't know why there was even a speck of ruins left.'
[Incorrect information detected. Reconstructing status window…]
Arthur looked at his status window once again. His level was still 1. But no longer locked behind a cap. And he had been given two titles. They were boosts that also influenced reputation in the game. While also giving boosts. The first title.

'The hell? That's pretty good for the most part. But the negative reputation will be very troublesome…alright. Let's just move on.'

"What?!" He yelled audibly. It was a big deal in the game. All non mage or support classes were locked behind a magical barrier. Only a few people in the game were able to get their hands on a class or subclass that combined magic spells with some kind of warrior class. Those few are easily able to make top 100 ranks. Due to them basically being a one man party. Although his party was the best in the world, they had no such class. The problem was, is that all class synergy is removed with a class like that. Every character is locked at level 99. Even with a class with magic and sword abilities, you can't go past that level cap. And you can't make up for the roles of the other characters. Basically, everything is screwed in a party without proper balance.
Arthur looked at his status window for a few moments and attempted to open the party menu. But was met with an error code.
[You have been excluded from all party interaction.]
"...ugh. It just gets worse and worse every second. First I'm stuck in a video game. Next I'm half demon. Next I'm level 1. And then I can't even join a party. I used exp share when I was level 1 on this account, I don't know what I'll do…"
He sighed and opened his quest menu. There were space for side quests. But his main quest bar had been crossed out. Until he heard the system ringing in his ear.

[Alert! New server wide quest! Hunt the remnants of the demon king Azazel! 0/2! Rewards: Demonic blessing, demonic sword arts, and heart of the demon king!]
"…goddamnit…this really can't get worse. If I interpret this right. I'm one of the remnants, and those rewards…people will hunt me to the ends of the earth."

Arthur looked at the window once again. And started to reconsider. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise.
