Chapter 157 - Chapter 157: Outer Path Statue

Both Garaga and Orochimaru froze in shock.

They sensed an immense, violent chakra surging up from underground.

It was pure fury and death.

The earth split open.

Dust and smoke erupted.

A colossal withered wooden hand burst from the depths, clutching fleeing Cloud and Sand ninja like mere insects. Dozens were crushed in its grasp—five fingers clamping shut, exploding them into a mist of blood.

"Ahhh—!"

One Cloud ninja watched helplessly as his lower body was pulverized by the wooden giant hand.

Indescribable agony tore through him. As his body flew through the air, his eyes swiveled in horror, catching sight of yet another enormous wooden hand erupting from the earth—this one sweeping sideways, smashing through whole ranks of shinobi.

"Ahhh! Ahhh! Ahhh!"

Screams of anguish filled the battlefield.

This was not something mortals could resist!

And so, as that Cloud ninja perished in terror, the cries gradually faded into silence.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The earth itself was ripped apart.

A monstrous figure, its head sealed shut with nine eyes, resembling a humanoid yet no smaller than the Complete Susanoo, burst forth from the earth. Its back bristled with upturned withered branches, and both of its colossal hands pressed down on the ground as it clawed free.

It tilted its head upward and roared at the fleeing ninja. The sound waves and the earthquake fused together, creating a deafening, soul-shaking thunder.

Buildings in Konoha crumbled apart, tiles and bricks flying. Trees were uprooted, power poles toppled and hurled away.

"What in the world is that monster!?"

A Cloud shinobi, still trembling after barely reaching safety, couldn't help but glance back.

That one glance branded him with an indelible psychological scar.

"Roooar——!"

The Demonic Statue of the Outer Path tore itself free from the earth. Raising both massive arms, it clutched its head as though deranged, bellowing again like a raving lunatic.

Its body was massive, its legs thick and rugged, covered in gnarled wooden knots and markings. Ankles and wrists were locked in dark metallic restraints.

Its beastlike howls shook the skies.

If the Complete Susanoo was divine and demonic at once, then in the eyes of mortals, this was the purest evil—unknown and unfathomable.

The Uchiha, standing behind the titanic figure, gazed up in silence, all lost in thought.

Once again—it was their captain's power.

Boom——

The moment the Demonic Statue appeared, it charged forward like a berserker toward the Cloud and Sand forces. The earth cracked beneath its feet, smoke and debris roiling.

Its enormous, withered hands snatched up fleeing ninja with ease, crushing them to pulp. Others it trampled underfoot, grinding them into bloody paste.

That instant, within Konoha—

Blood flowed like rivers!

Orochimaru and Garaga froze in shock.

"I don't recall Uchiha Yu possessing such power… Is this still the same Uchiha Yu I know?" Orochimaru's eyes widened.

Garaga drew in a sharp breath. "As expected of my master!!"

The aura emanating from the Demonic Statue utterly dwarfed the pressure of the tailed beasts.

Garaga swore—in the presence of this wooden monstrosity, the Three-Tails and Six-Tails he had once seen in Kirigakure were nothing but weaklings among weaklings!

The moment the Raikage and Rasa laid eyes on the Demonic Statue, both roared desperately to their troops:

"Run! Run now!!"

But it was too late.

The once-confident allied armies were crushed en masse beneath the giant's body.

The remnants tried to flee for their lives, but none could escape its reach so quickly.

Amid the shattered ruins of the street, the discarded Edo Tensei shells of Hiruzen Sarutobi, Asuma Sarutobi, and Danzo Shimura lifted their heads in dazed horror at the looming shadow above.

Rumble——

The Demonic Statue's massive foot fell from the heavens, casting an overwhelming shadow as it stomped toward them.

"Uchiha Yu… to think he holds such world-ending power… And we thought to pit Edo Tensei ancestors against him… How laughably naïve."

Hiruzen muttered bitterly.

Danzo fell into despair. Knowing now that Uchiha Yu possessed such potential—what need was there to destroy the clan? He should have prostrated himself, begged to be Yu's dog.

And then—

Boom——

The colossal, withered foot slammed down. The shadow swallowed them whole, crushing the three into scraps, embedding them into the earth.

Behind the Demonic Statue, the Complete Susanoo still stood, seemingly bound yet towering.

"This must already surpass the Nine-Tails…" Kushina's pupils shook violently as she collapsed to her knees. She could sense it—the monstrous thing before her still had far more room to grow.

Rin quickly rushed to support her, though she too was overcome with despair and confusion.

Sasuke, Shikamaru, and the others stood frozen. To their eyes, this battle revealed the very limits of shinobi combat.

Before the Demonic Statue and the Complete Susanoo, ninjutsu, taijutsu, kekkei genkai, shinobi, summons—all of it seemed like dust.

Uchiha Yu's lips curved upward. He turned his gaze slightly, glancing back toward the buildings, where Tobirama and Hashirama stood stunned.

Tobirama, staring at the rampaging Demonic Statue, could no longer maintain his calm.

His voice trembled: "Big Brother… is that your Wood Style construct?"

"Don't joke about such things." Hashirama replied darkly.

Sweeping his gaze over the collapsing Cloud and Sand armies, his face hardened with resolve.

"No… if this continues, we won't even be able to preserve Konoha's remaining forces. Whatever the outcome, we must at least try."

With that, Hashirama stepped forward, his expression grave. He released his clasped hands, then struck them together again:

"Sage Art: Wood Release—True Several Thousand Hands!!"

In but a moment, half of Konoha lay in ruins. Buildings collapsed, the ground shattered apart.

Amidst an ultimate surge of Wood Release—

A colossal Thousand-Armed Kannon, greater in mass than the Complete Susanoo and equal to it in height, manifested between heaven and earth.

Thus, the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, the Complete Susanoo, and the Thousand-Armed Kannon stood aligned in a single line, dominating Konoha's main thoroughfare.

Their towering forms stretched from the village gates to the evacuation shelters, blanketing the entire village in their shadows.

On this day, the ordinary people of Konoha bore witness to what it meant for gods and demons to clash—for deities to wage war against deities.

Tobirama and Hashirama now stood atop the Kannon. This was the most powerful Wood Release technique that only Hashirama himself could command.

His face was marked with the lines of Sage Mode, natural chakra converging to his call.

Though his Edo Tensei body had supposedly regained half of his former power, only upon unleashing such a mighty technique did Hashirama realize the truth—he had scarcely recovered thirty to forty percent of his true strength.

In his prime, the "True Several Thousand Hands" rose fifty to seventy meters tall—tens of times larger than the Nine-Tails.

But now, the Buddha statue he had summoned could barely match the height of the Complete Susanoo.
