Chapter 132 - Chapter 132: The Scientist

[3rd POV]

It turns out that it took a few days for a new customer to come into the shop. Which Wanda was not exactly too pleased with, not having anyone new coming in after such a long time. She was used to new customers like every other day, but now it was seemingly slowing down quite a bit.

And that was just kind of boring to be honest.

The new customer that had come in, was an interesting one though.

'Huh...I was wondering when he'd come here' Wanda thought, as she stared at the man that had entered her shop. She had been expecting him to come into the shop sooner, but didn't think it would take this long for it to happen.

The man that walked into her shop was the one and only...

Reed Richards.

"This is the place you spoke of, Stephen?" Reed asked, glancing at Strange who walked in next to him a few moments later. The man nodded in response.

"It is. This is the bookstore that I have spoken with you about. And this is Miss Wanda Maximoff. Not the one that we know, but a different variant from another universe" Strange said, as the man turned to Wanda.

He looked at her in some surprise, as well as a bit of interest. Probably interested in how she had made this place, and where she came from.

Reed is a scientist at heart, and her shop broke several laws of physics, and its makeup was well beyond anything he knew in his world. With thousands of different dimensions existing above inside of this dimension.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Maximoff" Reed said, reaching his hand out as Wanda shook it with a slight smile on her face. While she was slightly smiling on the outside, Wanda was inwardly a little surprised.

She was fully expecting the man to be more antagonistic towards her, or at least less trusting and relaxed about this situation. He was well known for being a bit hard to work with, at least when it comes to science and experimentation.

Tony Stark was far far harder to work with thanks to his personality, but she still had been expecting for Reed to be far ruder to her than he had been so far.

"Nice to meet you too, Richards" Wanda responded simply, as Reed looked around the shop, before stopping when he noticed the science section that was lined with hundreds of books. And not only was it lined with hundreds of books, but hundreds of books that he had never seen before.

Quite a few of them were even in languages that he had never read before, making it even more interesting.

"I must ask, how did you create this place?" Reed asked after tearing his eyes away from the bookshelves, deciding to go over there and begin looking through them a bit later.

"Not through science, if that is what you are wondering" Wanda responded with an amused expression.

"I expected as much. The creation of such an intricately crafted pocket dimension is beyond any science in my world. And you are Wanda Maximoff, so I suppose that you utilized magic to create this place? Or a power source similar to Magic?" Reed asked, as Wanda nodded.

"Magic is what I used. A lot of magic that made this place capable of connecting to various universes, all the while it is able to grow in size the more books I buy" Wanda replied, Reed looked even more interested in the idea that the bookstore was going to continue growing with every bookshelf that she eventually had to make.

If that was true, this place would eventually become big enough to make even the largest libraries he knew of look tiny in comparison.

And even now, the knowledge that was held in this place was incredible in his eyes. He hadn't even read a book yet or looked at any of them properly, but he can tell just from looking at the selection on the shelves, and the fact that he had no idea what half the books were for.

"And this place sells books from other universes?" Reed asked, glancing back at the science section as Wanda chuckled.

"Yes, Reed, this bookstore sells books from across existence. You'll find books on science that you cannot even begin to comprehend. Alien sciences that I am quite certain you will be interested in. So go ahead and begin to explore the selection I have" Wanda said, as the man didn't say another word and walked over to the science section of the store.

"He's excited" Strange said with an amused expression on his face.

"Ah, he's one of the types that hides his excitement, isn't he?" Wanda asked, as Strange shook his head.

"No, usually he quite openly shows it. But I suppose he is acting differently thanks to your...unique background. I apologize on his behalf if that is rude" Strange responded.

Wanda waved him off.

"It's fine, he doesn't trust me yet because he's never met me. He's only met the version of me that exists in your universe, so it's only natural that he will be distrustful of me. I imagine that'll slowly begin to cease once he begins to read through the books that I have in the science section" Wanda replied, watching as the man's face began to warp into a more gleeful one.

Reed was evidently excited with what he was finding. And she could already see him beginning to amass a stack of books to buy.

"Yes...I think you are right in that regard" Strange said in amusement as he watched Reed begin to gather a larger and larger selection of books. With new books being added to the stack every minute or so.

Some of the books she was selling had information detailing sciences so advanced that it would quite literally catapult the science of human civilization by millennia just from understanding it. And most of the books there would help Reed with his own research and plans. Especially the books on physics and dimensions.

As it was physics and dimensions that he largely had been focusing on recently.

Wanda was pretty confident that she was about to get a new repeat customer. Because with how often she is buying and collecting new books, the man will never truly run out of books to buy from her. Which would then give him the means to continuously improve his own knowledge and scientific expertise with every new book she gets and he buys and reads.

"Does he have the money for all of that?" Wanda asked, knowing that in some universes Reed Richards is rather tight on cash. So much so that buying the books that he is buying might cause problems. With some of them being worth over a hundred dollars, at least in the case of the rarer books on science.

The books that the Doctor had sold her are still the most expensive science books she had in her collection, and the gallifreyan books were worth hundreds to even over a thousand dollars.

Expensive, but it only makes sense with the knowledge that is held within.

"He should. All together it won't be more than a few thousand dollars, correct?" Stephen asked, as Wanda nodded.

"Then he should be fine. He might be tight on money, but he is not that tight on money. And I'll cover whatever he does not have anyways" Strange said, as he had more than enough money himself. From his time as a doctor to his investments and other assets, he had millions upon millions of dollars.

So buying some books for Reed was not even remotely a problem.

"Alright, good to know" Wanda responded, deciding to drop the subject of Reed's wealth, and instead spoke about something else.

"When are the others going to start coming here? I was expecting Stark to be here by now" Wanda asked, wondering when Stephen would tell them about her shop and have them come here.

"Soon. I thought it was best to start with Richards as he is easy to work with. Stark...not so much, and might cause problems" Stephen answered, with Wanda staying silent as she understood why he had done that.

It was probably the best way to go about it.

Watching as Reed continued to add more and more books to his selection, Wanda smiled, one thought on her mind.

'Looks like I'll be meeting a lot more familiar faces soon'
