Chapter 33 - An Outsider

"Mom, look who is here to visit you!" chimed Melody. "I saw Anna outside the hospital and dragged her in."

Anna smiled courteously, greeting, "Hello, Aunt Yang. I have been meaning to visit you for a while, but the classes kept me busy until now. I am sorry."

She then walked over to place the basket of flowers in hand on the table.

Daniel's mother, Lucy, smiled at her affectionately and softened her tone. "You must have been exhausted. Look at all the weight you have lost. And there was no need for you to bring flowers. What would an old woman like me do with it?"

Anna grabbed on to Lucy's hand and frowned. "Aunt Yang, I know roses are your favorite. If I had the ability, I would cure your disease. But the bare minimum I can do is please your mood."

"You have such a sweet mouth," Anna commented. "Medical school shouldn't be that easy to study in. If you had an off day, you should have taken a rest."
