Chapter 6 - The Luna's Coronation.

The decorations were already set, the elders, and pack members were ready, and seated as well. The program started with the alpha who was her father, giving his speech followed by her mother, and then her brother.

"My sister is now about to become the Luna of the pack. I am so excited, and I wish her a very prosperous reign. I'm always going to be here to direct, and strategize with you. Also, if you need anyone to plan with, I'm here. Together, we'll bring this pack to what it's supposed to be."

After his speech, she clapped her hands, smiling from ear to ear. She never believed she was becoming what she was in her former life.

Asena watched how he approached her, and took a seat, whispering to her ears.

"Are you ready for the Luna oath?"

She nodded. "Of course I—"

At that moment she was invited towards the stage. She stood up, and her brother stood up as well, applauding as the audience did the same.

"Oh…" she expressed, and wore a smile as she continued to walk towards the place where the elder was already waiting for her with the rule book of the pack.

When she got on the stage, silence reigned. Everyone's eyes was fixed on her, watching how she followed the instructions given to her by the elders.

"You have to say these words after me…"

She nodded, ready to say whatever it took to be crowned Luna.

"I, put your name in place, promise to guard the pack with my life."

She said the same, waiting for him to complete the statement. The back, and forth went on for about three minutes before she was crowned by the elder.

"By the power invested in me, I crown you Luna Pamela…"

Another round of applause played, and she stood before them with the mic in her front. It was time to give her speech.

After the applause died, she started to do what was necessary. "Good evening everyone. I wanted to thank you all for coming for this beautiful event. Well, I am thankful to my dad, mom, brother, elders, and everyone here for believing in me. I promise not to let you all down, I am going to be the best Luna there is."

As she gave the speech, she noticed people turning to each other to explain what was going on, but the moment she finished, they applauded again, some still having side talks which she caught a glimpse of when she walked back to her seat.

"She's so bold, maybe the rumours are true, maybe she's not Pamela…" Even her family thought the exact same thing.

However, she let it slide down her shoulders. Afterall, it wasn't something to bother her.

After the ceremony had ended, her family hosted a private dinner for her, in order to honour her as Luna which wowed her.

"How does it feel to be Luna…" Her brother asked as she ate, and she just smiled.

"Well I feel it's okay. I mean there's nothing to worry about being a leader except being killed."

Her brother, father and mother turned towards her, their eyes beckoning on her to explain.

"On my way back home from Ray's place some days ago, I was ambushed, and since then, I've been trying to find who tried to-"

"Why didn't you mention it sooner???" He asked with raised brows, and there was silence from her. She thought she could do it on her own, but she couldn't.

"We'll investigate and catch whoever it was. You don't have to worry…" His assurance was accompanied by a nod from her, and her mother.

After that, her father talked about strategies until dinner ended, and she retired to her room.

She was still in thoughts about all that happened today when a knock sounded on her door.

"Who's there?" She asked with raised brows, and her eyes remained on the door, but when there was no response, she immediately tried to defend herself.

She picked up the fruit knife on her counter, and tiptoed towards the door. Once there, she rested her back against the door, taking in a deep breath before she opened the door.

When they did, she struck with the knife, but didn't go further when she saw a familiar face. It was Phil, Ray's message man, and he was already bleeding.

"Oh my…" She expressed, and immediately pulled him in. "I'm sorry…" grabbing a towel to help him with the bleeding hand.

He nodded, but she didn't stop talking. "I'm sorry…I'm so sorry… I didn't— why didn't you come in when I asked you to? All these could have been easily avoided, but you kept quiet, why?"

Phil's eyes locked with hers. "I came here for Ray, and I'm guessing you wouldn't like to let me in, that's why I kept shut…" he expressed, making her let go of his hand which had stopped bleeding.

"So he's the reason you're here. What do you want?" she asked immediately, trying not to sound mean, but then she was defensive.

"He asked me to hand you these gifts, and congrats you on your appointment as Luna of the pack."

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "I don't–"

He immediately added the last bit of information. "He wants you to know he loves you, and wants you to be his Luna, so he asked me to give you this bouquet, and… these gifts. He loves you so much. He wants you to be his Luna, promising to give you a bit of his territory."

I frowned at the last part of his sentence.

"Well, tell him that I don't need it. I have everything I need, and I won't ever fall for his tricks." I huffed.

"What about these?" He asked, holding the gift box, and the bouquet.

"I don't know, but one thing is for sure. I don't need them, ever…"

Pamela immediately noticed the smile that was on his face. The way he stared at her, and the way he was excited. He walked over to the window, and threw the bouquet, pulling another from behind him like he was a magician.

"Then accept this. It's from my heart Pamela, I have been wanting to tell you this for a long time, but I don't know how else to do it. I love you Pamela, please consider me."
