c129: Baby Becomes a Great Ape
"Where exactly is the Realm of Time?" East Supreme Kai asked suspiciously, his tone wary.
"I've heard of it, but I don't know the details. However, I do know that gods like us reside there," replied Supreme Kai, the 15th generation elder, calmly.
"You must be a god from the Realm of Time," the old Supreme Kai said, turning his eyes toward Li Xu with a meaningful look.
"That's right," Li Xu confirmed, standing confidently. As a member of the Time Patrol, recognized even by Chronoa the Supreme Kai of Time, he could indeed be called a god.
"What brings you here? Do you require our assistance?" the old Supreme Kai asked, his suspicion vanishing now that Li Xu's divine identity was confirmed.
"I came to invite Son Goku and Vegeta to join the Time Patrol," Li Xu said with a casual smile.
"The Earth is in a state of emergency. They can't leave right now," East Supreme Kai objected quickly.
"Joining the Time Patrol doesn't require them to leave Earth permanently," Li Xu explained. "They'll remain here normally and only assist when urgent temporal disturbances occur."
"Hit him, Grandpa! Hit him!" Pan shouted from behind, eyes locked on the glass crystal showing Goku's battle with Baby.
"Let's wait until Goku finishes off Baby," Li Xu said with a smirk.
At that moment, Goku was being pummeled by Baby and didn't seem to have the upper hand, even in his Super Saiyan 4 form.
"How is Baby this strong? Even Super Saiyan 4 Goku isn't a match!" East Supreme Kai said, his face etched with worry.
"Relax," Li Xu chuckled. "Goku's the same in every timeline—he holds back during fights."
Currently, Baby's power level hovered around 40 trillion, which was formidable. However, should he utilize the Blutz Wave Generator to become a Golden Great Ape, Goku would have to step up his game significantly.
In the crystal display, Baby landed a series of punishing blows on Goku. Blood trickled from the corner of Goku's mouth, but he wiped it away and smiled.
"Sorry, I don't believe it myself. You hit me, and it just tickled." Goku chuckled.
"What did you say?!" Baby snarled, incensed.
"How dare you mock me!"
Roaring, Baby smashed Goku into the ground. Goku quickly rebounded, unfazed.
"Revenge Death Ball!"
Baby raised his hands and conjured a massive black energy sphere, launching it at Goku with a savage yell.
Boom!
An enormous explosion engulfed the battlefield, flames swirling in a perfect sphere.
"Looks like Goku took that attack directly!" East Supreme Kai said with concern. But Li Xu merely smiled, undisturbed.
As the smoke cleared, a massive crater had formed. At its center stood a lone pillar of stone—Goku, perched atop it, completely unharmed.
"Impossible!" Baby gasped, stunned.
"You can't beat me," Goku said with confidence.
"W-What?"
"The gap between our power is just too wide," Goku continued calmly.
"Shut up!"
Baby fired multiple energy blasts, but Goku dodged them effortlessly, not even flinching.
"No matter what your excuse is, I won't forgive you. You're pure evil, Baby," Goku said solemnly.
In a flash, Goku disappeared and reappeared in front of Baby, delivering a crushing punch to the stomach. As Baby reeled, Goku blasted him with an energy wave at point-blank range.
Baby flew backward like a broken doll. Goku pursued and rained down a brutal combo of punches and kicks, finishing with a powerful sweeping kick that slammed Baby into the ground.
Boom!
The debris exploded outward as Baby crashed. For a moment, all was silent.
Then Baby slowly rose from the rubble, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, his form battered and disheveled.
"It's over, Baby!"
Goku brought his hands to his waist, forming a Kamehameha. The blue energy pulsed between his palms, growing to the size of a basketball.
"Lord Baby!"
A shout echoed from the top of a tower—Pan looked up just as a concentrated light beam, emitting artificial Blutz Waves, shined down on Baby.
"Stop, Pan…!" Baby tried to yell, but it was too late.
The light engulfed him, and his body began expanding rapidly. In seconds, he transformed into a Golden Great Ape, over ten meters tall and radiating immense power.
"Damn it!" Goku exclaimed, realizing he'd missed the chance to stop the transformation.
"There's no Bulma in this timeline. So who built that Blutz Wave Generator?" Li Xu muttered. In the alternate timeline of Da Te, Bulma didn't exist.
It wasn't a bad thing, he thought after all, seeing Bulma married to Vegeta in another dimension always felt a bit strange to him.
"This is going to be a tough fight," Li Xu chuckled.
As a Golden Great Ape, Baby's power now rivaled Goku's. And since Goku had just recently reached Super Saiyan 4, he still hadn't mastered its full potential giving Baby a slight edge.
"This is bad! He's turned into a monster!" Old Supreme Kai exclaimed.
"He hasn't lost his mind. That's just a trick," Li Xu said knowingly.
"What?!" the old Supreme Kai shouted in shock.
"Should we warn Goku? Otherwise he might get caught off guard," East Supreme Kai asked urgently.
"This guy Baby is disgusting!" Pan growled, almost cracking the glass with her clenched fists.
"Goku! Baby is still in control—he's faking it!" East Supreme Kai said telepathically to Goku.
As Goku dodged Baby's attacks, East Supreme Kai's words reached his mind. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
Leaping onto Baby's giant arm, Goku seized a finger with both hands and hurled Baby's colossal frame off balance.
Crash!
Baby slammed into the ground, the shockwave shaking the earth.
"Quit pretending, Baby. I know you're fully conscious," Goku shouted.
"Heh… So you figured it out," Baby laughed, rising into the air.
"Let's finish this," Goku said firmly.
"You said I couldn't beat you? I'll show you just how wrong you are!" Baby roared and charged.
He closed the distance in an instant, throwing a heavy punch. But Goku disappeared mid-strike and reappeared on Baby's shoulder.
Boom!
A powerful kick struck Baby's face, sending him crashing into a nearby building, reducing it to rubble.
