Chapter 1 - One Piece: Rise of Raven D. Kira

The last thing he remembered was the screech of tires, the blinding glare of headlights—and then, nothing.

No pain. No sound. No thoughts. Just a void.

Or so he thought.

When he opened his eyes, he wasn't lying on a hospital bed, surrounded by sterile white walls and the beep of machines. Instead, the scent of salt and sea filled his lungs, warm sunlight poured onto his skin, and the rhythmic crash of waves echoed in his ears. Seagulls circled overhead, cawing as they soared through a crystal-blue sky. From the distance came the lively noise of dockworkers shouting, sailors laughing, and the creak of wooden ships swaying with the tide.

Then, right in front of him, a translucent blue screen materialized, hovering mid-air:

[Welcome, Raven D. Kira, to the World of One Piece.]

He blinked in disbelief "Raven D. Kira…?" , his heart racing. He sat up slowly on the sun-warmed shore, grains of sand clinging to his hands.

"This has to be a dream…" he muttered, though part of him already knew the truth. This wasn't Earth. This wasn't his old life.

He turned his gaze toward the bustling island port ahead—palm trees swaying, flags flying, and exotic ships docking beneath the shadow of jagged cliffs. It looked like something straight out of the anime he used to watch.

Raven stared, breath caught in his throat his lips slowly curled into a grin—hungry, fearless, alive.

"No way… this is real. I am actually in one piece ! And I've got a system." he whispered, his voice trembling with excitement.

"My body feels… weird," he muttered, glancing down at himself. This wasn't his old body — this one looked like it had been through a lot. Yet, strangely, he felt stronger than ever.

He stood, brushing the sand from his clothes, and clenched his fists with purpose. "Alright then… let's burn this world down and rebuild it in my name."

He looked to the horizon, where sea met sky, and declared with a glint in his eyes

The salty sea breeze tugged at Kira's hair as he perched atop a weathered rock, overlooking the bustling port town below. Fishing boats rocked gently in the harbor, dockworkers barked orders over crates of Sea King meat, and traders shouted with the desperation of capitalism in full swing.

But Kira's focus wasn't on any of that,

His eyes were fixed on the sleek, translucent interface floating in front of him—something between a futuristic HUD and a game overlay, pulsing softly with vibrant blue energy.

He took a steady breath.

Alright, Kira. Don't panic. You died—or something close—and now you're in One Piece. With a system. A real one.

He opened the "Character Info" section, and the display morphed seamlessly.

"Low stats. Expected," he muttered. "Looks like this is built to grow over time."

He returned to the main menu and opened "Inventory." A black, empty grid stretched out with faint labels for weapons, tools, and consumables. Only one item was available.

[Beginner's Gift Pack]

[Contains: Randomized Starter Items (3), System Credits (x500) ]

He hesitated, then tapped the icon.

[Opening Pack…]

[Steel Combat Knife – Rare (Upgradeable)]

[Map of East Blue (Auto-Updating)]

[Stamina Recovery Pills (x5)]

[System Credits: +500]

"Now we're talking." He grinned, pulling the combat knife from the grid. It materialized in his hand, solid and cold with a perfect edge. Not flashy, but definitely practical. "Guess I'm not starting from scratch after all."

He slotted it into a sheath at his belt and moved on to the "Perks" tab. A new message awaited him.

[Perk Token Available. Would you like to view compatible perks?]

He tapped Yes and a list unraveled before him:

•Battle Instinct I – Slightly increases reaction time and combat awareness.

•Quick Learner I – Gain skill experience 15% faster.

•Iron Will I – Resistance to mental pressure, fear, and minor illusions.

•Crafty Hands I – Increases success rate of stealing, pickpocketing, and sleight of hand.

•Adaptive Body I – Slight passive boost to physical training efficiency.

He whistled low. "These aren't bad. But which one…"

His fingers hovered for a moment before choosing Quick Learner I. If he was going to survive in a world filled with sword masters, fishmen, and devil fruit monsters, knowledge and adaptability came first.

[Perk Acquired: Quick Learner I]

He closed the menu, the screen fading away at his command.

The world felt… sharper now. The cries of gulls, the lapping of waves, even the conversations of dockworkers down below—he was noticing more, processing more.

That perk's already working. He smirked.

But now came the real challenge: surviving this world long enough to build a name, a crew, and a future.

He stood, dusting off his clothes. His stomach growled—a cruel reminder that system menus didn't fill bellies. He checked his pocket and found only a few Berries tucked in an old pouch someone must've dropped near the dock.

Time to test something else.

"System," he said aloud, "is there a way to earn more Exp or Berries?"

The blue screen shimmered to life again.

Kira exhaled, a slow grin creeping across his face. "Now this… this I can work with."

Brushing the dust from his worn-out clothes, he adjusted them and set off down the hill.

——

The dirt road was uneven beneath Kira's feet, worn down by years of foot traffic and the occasional cart. The early morning sun stretched golden fingers across the landscape, cutting through the mist that still clung to the trees on the outskirts of town. Dew clung to the tall grass, brushing against his pants as he moved through the fields toward the edge of the forest.

A quiet place. A place to think. To train. To breathe.

[Daily Quest: Beginner's Grind]

Physical Training (0/2 hrs)

Explore your surroundings (0/1 km)

Speak to a local (0/1)

"I guess I'll start with the physical training," he murmured to himself, stepping into the clearing beneath a wide, gnarled tree. Its thick roots curled over the edge of a nearby stream, and the sound of running water filled the quiet like a background track.

He shrugged off his shirt, tossing it onto a low-hanging branch. The cool morning air bit at his skin, but he welcomed it. This body—his body—felt stronger, leaner, more balanced than he remembered from his life back on Earth.

"Guess transmigration comes with an upgrade," he muttered, dropping into a low stance.

Push-ups. Sit-ups. Squats. Shadow-boxing. He moved like someone possessed. Not because he was in a rush, but because the system demanded consistency—and because he needed the motion to anchor himself. Each movement gave him a sense of control in a world he didn't yet understand.

Sweat trickled down his spine, soaking the waistband of his pants.

An hour passed in silence, broken only by the occasional chirp of a bird or rustle of leaves in the canopy. Then another hour.

Finally—

[Physical Training Complete – 2/2 hrs]

[+1 Stamina | +1 Strength | +1 Agility]

[+25 EXP]

He collapsed onto the grass, panting, muscles burning with that strange mix of pain and satisfaction. His chest rose and fell in heavy breaths as he stared up at the cloudless blue sky.

A blue screen hovered above him, transparent against the morning light:

[Progress: 1/3 Objectives Complete]

He rolled onto his side and groaned. "One kilometer to explore. Should be easy."

Kira grabbed his shirt, slung it over his shoulder, and began walking along the stream. It was narrow but winding, carving a lazy path through the forest like nature's own trail. As he walked, he took everything in—the shifting birds overhead, the shimmer of light on the water, the soft splash of fish beneath the surface.

And then, something made him stop.

A slight bend in the stream opened into a wider pool where the water slowed and settled. The surface was glassy, smooth. He stepped closer and crouched beside the bank.

His reflection stared back at him.

Sharp jawline. High cheekbones. Piercing storm-gray eyes that looked older than twenty. His hair was raven black—messy but with an unintentional style, strands falling just over his forehead. A small scar ran along the right side of his neck, barely visible unless you were close. He hadn't had that before.

He blinked, leaned closer. His eyes weren't lying. This is me?

He looked… good. Striking, in a way that wasn't conventionally beautiful but undeniably magnetic. The kind of face that people didn't forget.

"Guess I got the main character upgrade package too," he said with a dry laugh.

"Come to think of it, I don't know anything about the original owner of this body — no memories, nothing. The only thing I'm sure of is that this body has been through life and death… and the "D." This guy — no, me — I'm no ordinary person.

"But it doesn't matter now. Maybe I'll find out someday."

His hand brushed the surface of the water, distorting the image. Ripples danced outward, and for a second he imagined another version of himself looking up from beneath the surface. The version that died back on Earth. The version that never had a chance to live free.

"Not going back," he whispered. "Not ever."

He stood, brushing off his pants. The system pinged quietly in his mind.

[Objective Complete: Explore Your Surroundings – 1 km Walked]

[+1 Perception | +20 EXP]

"Two down," he said. "Just one more…"

His gaze drifted back toward the town, just visible through the trees.

"Time to find someone to talk to."
