Chapter 121 - The Ground Assault Of The New York Public Library

Inside the quiet cabin of the Hellraiser's cockpit, Raven sat looking at the burning ruins of the New York Public Library. As smoke blew through the destroyed cement steps, the sound distant gunfire could be heard, while the howls of zombies echoed from inside the building's as they feasted on Raider scum. Raven turned to Alara and said.

"Alara, it's time to get some revenge. Let's go deal with Adam Carter. Most of the cannon fodder have been dealt with now."

No further words were needed. Alara nodded her head in agreement and stood up from her boss chair as began to change her clothes. In the cramped space of the cabin, Raven began to take off her shirt then her pants. Then she summoned from her system space a balck sports bra and jean shorts. The black sports bra and black jean-cut shorts are lined with magnetic kinetic shielding that can deflect low-caliber bullets like rain off an umbrella.

Alara smiled as she kicked off her boots, pulling on her own outfit a custom made pink assault outfit. Her sports bra shined with a neon pink gloss, matched by the skin-tight pink jeans that molded to her long shaply legs like a second skin. She slid her hands along the side holsters of her jeans and drew out her new favorite weapon from the system space a pink AK-203, polished and pompous, with a heart-shaped flashlight mount that cast a glowing pink heart light on everything so she can kill her enemies with a little bit of love in each bullet.

Raven rolled her eyes and said, "I can't believe I let you convince me to make us Bikini Armor Alara!"

Alara lifted her head playfully and responded to Raven, saying, "Come on, Raven. You have made magnetic bullet shields for my glasses and your necklace. The least you can do is embed this technology in our assault gear. Now we are basically immune to most small arms fire now." Alara paused, running her fingers down her pink rifle's barrel. "And as for the bikini armor Raven, you can't lie to me. You love it. You're the one who keeps making me wear all these outfits when we are alone. Besides, no one's going to live to talk about what we wear."

Raven shook her head in defeat, a sigh escaping her as she pulled her own pink AK-203 from the system space, holding the weapon with the same reverence as she would Alara. Their outfits glowed faintly as they activated their full body magnetic shielding.

Two drones emerged from Raven's system space and took silent flight into the air.

Outside, the first drone nose dived at the massive entryway and steps leading inside of the library. With a soft click, it dropped a cluster of bombs across the main area outside the enteryway hole where the bulk of zombies and Raiders still fought. BOOM. BOOM. BOOM. Explosions rocked the ground, tearing through bodies, sending limbs and zombies skyward.

Then came a green fog from the shadows of the explosions.

From the craters came a thick green fog that spread through the area like a morning mist. The fog climbed upwards, clinging to bookshelves and broken marbale columns before settling across the battlefields ground. The zombies, at first stunned by the blasts, froze. Then, they sniffed inhaling the air. As they began to cry in pain.

Hundreds of zombies turned and fled the library entrance.

They screeched, tripping over one another, as the undead began to flee out the shattered windows and side doors of the library, running as fast as their twisted legs could carry them away from the lingering green fog.

Inside the tank, Alara blinked in question, asking Raven. "What is that green stuff?!"

Raven checked her Ak-203 sight, watching the zombie exodus through her cctv feed. "A plant-based gas I made with my plant manipulation powers. It overwhelms the nervous system of frenzied zombies and triggers an instinctive urge to flee from the green gog. They will flee. And by the time they stop running and come back here, we will be long gone."

Alara shook her head, stunned. "Raven, nothing you do surprises me anymore. You're so awesome."

Raven's second drone flew through the chaos, flying low through smoke-filled hallways. As it opened fired with its Omni silenced machine gun, the modified rifle firing whisper-quiet gunshot bursts. Pew. Pew. Pew. Raiders dropped dead where they stood, screaming in confusion before they died. A few remaining zombies caught in the crossfire fell just as easily, clearing a path through the central atrium.

Raven saw the area was clear, then turned to Alara. "Let's move out."
