A world under armored defense—this was something Tony Stark had said in the footage about creating Ultron.
Although that was a Tony Stark from another parallel world, it was still highly referential. Therefore, when Tony Stark said this, everyone present wasn't surprised.
"Stark, I understand your feelings. I know that even if I oppose you, you wouldn't listen. I just want to remind you—are you really ready?"
Captain America, always the more conservative one, spoke first, his face serious. "When someone possesses power strong enough to change the world, it's often hard to remain true to themselves. They can easily get lost in that power."
"Stark, are you truly prepared to possess such power?"
"And you all—are you ready too?"
Captain America's gaze swept over the others in the hall as he asked.
"Rogers, I really regret this. I thought after knowing me for so long, you'd understand me better," Tony Stark shook his head. "You actually think my power comes from Vision—or the armor I created?"
"No, you're wrong, Rogers!"
"My greatest power has always been here! It's enough to change this world!"
Tony Stark said this as he pointed to his head, speaking with complete seriousness.
"Stark, we'll discuss this properly another day," Nick Fury spoke up, scanning everyone with his one eye. "But today's meeting is the post-battle briefing after Ronan's invasion, so let's not get off-topic."
Following Nick Fury's suggestion, the topic of building Iron Man armors was temporarily set aside.
However, aside from Captain America, neither Nick Fury, Banner, nor Black Widow and Hawkeye raised any clear objections.
From their subtle reactions, it was easy to see their stance toward Tony Stark mass-producing armors.
Before the quiz, all relevant post-battle matters had been largely discussed.
After a brief summary, the meeting concluded.
"Nick Fury, everyone, I think we need to extend this meeting a bit," Captain America suddenly spoke near the end. "We just participated in another round of the quiz."
Those who hadn't participated—Nick Fury, Black Widow, and Hawkeye—were naturally quite surprised.
There's no need to elaborate further; the meeting continued, sharing relevant intelligence about the new round of the quiz.
After more than two hours, even those who hadn't participated in the quiz were fully informed of the latest intelligence.
Next naturally came the corresponding response plans.
Through discussion, the most important tasks were two: First, determine the exact location of the Soul Stone on Vormir.
Second, plan the killing of Ego.
However, the second task would have to wait until Star-Lord arrived, so for now, everyone focused on the first.
Before the discussion officially began, they summoned Gamora again.
"Gamora, do you know the whereabouts of the Soul Stone?" Captain America asked directly.
"What? The Soul Stone? What's that?" Gamora looked completely confused.
At the moment, she was assisting Nebula in helping Ronan search for the Cosmic Orbs. She didn't even know about the Power Stone, let alone the Soul Stone.
From her expression, it didn't seem like she was lying. After a few indirect questions, they decided not to waste more effort on Gamora for now and let her return.
"Looks like Thor, this one's on you," Tony Stark said seriously.
Since they couldn't get anything from Gamora, the exact location of Vormir would have to be entrusted to Asgard.
Earth was no help at all.
"Leave it to me!" Thor didn't refuse and agreed immediately.
"Oh, and also Ego's planet," Captain America added.
Thor didn't hesitate.
They then discussed other minor details, and after another two hours, the meeting finally concluded.
Everyone returned to their own homes and started their respective tasks.
Tony Stark immediately began constructing a data center to develop Vision's program.
Nick Fury, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, besides continuing to fight Hydra as usual, had another crucial task:
Learn interstellar knowledge from Gamora.
As for Thor?
Sandalor, the Ravagers, Vormir, plus Ego's planet—Thor had a heavy workload ahead.
Banner threw himself into studying the mutated cells, working tirelessly and enthusiastically.
The only exception was Strange.
Although he would become an incredibly powerful sorcerer in the future, for now he was just a normal doctor and had no involvement in the Quiz Alliance's affairs.
Even now, Strange hadn't seen any opportunity to become the Kamar-Taj sorcerer.
Everyone else was deeply immersed in their tasks.
Three months later, an alien spaceship quietly landed on Earth.
Star-Lord had finally arrived.
"This is Earth? Honestly, it's a bit different from what I remember."
Walking through the bustling streets, Star-Lord scanned the towering buildings and heavy traffic, clearly surprised.
Over twenty years had passed—change was inevitable.
"But why does the music now sound so awful?"
Music from the shop speakers played the era's popular hits, but Star-Lord kept shaking his head, disliking it. In his opinion, the classics on his personal player were still better.
"Forget it, I better find Stark and the others quickly."
Shaking off distractions, he prepared to handle business—but then realized: he had no idea where Tony Stark and the others were.
The Quiz system had teleported him so quickly, he hadn't even had time to ask. He had been sent back to his grandmother's house.
No choice—he had to find out the old-fashioned way.
"Excuse me, do you know Tony Stark? Or Steve Rogers?" Star-Lord asked a random passerby.
"Street interview? In America, who doesn't know those two?" the passerby laughed.
They were that famous on Earth? Star-Lord inwardly marveled.
Then he asked eagerly, "Do you know where they are?"
"In New York, buddy. Can you ask something more original?"
"Where in New York? Can you be more specific?"
"Their residence? I'm not sure, but Stark's workplace is the Stark Tower—the tallest building in New York."
Naming a building after himself? Star-Lord thought silently. Stark was clearly influential and powerful on Earth.
Suddenly, a loud thud!
While they were talking, an Iron Man armor fell from the sky, landing heavily in front of them.
"Iron Man! It's Iron Man!"
The crowd gasped and gathered, like fans seeing their idol.
Star-Lord had seen Tony Stark's Iron Man armor in the footage, so he recognized it.
Somewhat surprised, he asked, "I was looking for you—how did you know I arrived?"
"My satellites detected your ship as soon as it entered the atmosphere," the Iron Man suit said calmly. "Get in quickly."
Whoosh!
The armor opened, revealing… no one inside.
It wasn't Tony Stark at all—just one of his suits.
Star-Lord paused, then stepped inside. The armor sealed around him and shot into the sky.
When the Iron Man armor landed, he saw several people waiting. The one-eyed Fury immediately caught his attention.
Reflecting sunlight off his bald head, he was unmistakable.
Next to him were familiar faces: Captain America and Natasha.
Tony Stark, Strange, and Banner were not present.
"Peter Quill, welcome to Earth! I'm Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D.!" Fury led the greeting.
"Thank you, Fury!"
Star-Lord replied and greeted Captain America and Black Widow.
They guided him into the Quiz Alliance base and shared selected intelligence from the previous quiz rounds with him.
Star-Lord was astonished.
"I've also received intelligence—Thanos is sending people to search for the Cosmic Orbs."
Star-Lord brought critical intelligence as well.
After the Avengers killed Ronan, Thanos had to send someone else.
But the Cosmic Orbs were well hidden. So far, neither the Ravagers nor Thanos had found them, and no clear leads had emerged.
Whoosh!
After a short discussion, Thor, Tony Stark, and Banner—key figures—arrived.
The meeting continued.
The main agenda was one thing: kill Ego, eliminate this cosmic threat.
"Thor, have you located Ego's planet?"
Before the meeting officially began, Captain America asked Thor seriously.
"Not yet, but I have some leads. It shouldn't be long—Ego can't run away," Thor shrugged.
Everyone in the room understood.
Even without locating Ego yet, it didn't stop them from making preliminary plans. They discussed specific ways to kill him.
The general approach was similar to the quiz plan.
Banner, Thor, and Star-Lord would go to Ego's planet to distract him, drawing his attention.
Tony Stark would use drones to deliver bombs to Ego's brain, just like Groot did, eliminating him in one strike.
After several hours, the meeting concluded, producing a complete, detailed, and effective operational plan.
Everything was ready—now they only needed Thor to pinpoint Ego's planet.
…
Titan.
In a dark, empty hall, Thanos studied the projected star map, murmuring, "Where exactly are you?"
The "you" referred to the Cosmic Orb.
The Orb was the first step in Thanos' grand plan, and he valued it highly.
"Master!"
A voice called behind him. Ebony Maw appeared, swiftly kneeling and saluting.
Thanos slowly turned and sat on his throne.
"So~" Thanos asked from above, "what news do you bring me?"
"Master, I've confirmed it. Ronan is dead, and we found the wreckage of his fleet," Ebony Maw said gravely. "The entire fleet!"
Shock spread across Thanos' face.
Ever since Ronan accepted his terms to wage war on Earth, he had been out of contact, and Thanos felt uneasy.
But he never expected Ronan's entire fleet to be destroyed.
When did Earth become this powerful?
"Ronan's whole fleet destroyed? Just outside Earth's atmosphere?" Thanos asked after a pause.
"Yes, Master. Just outside Earth's atmosphere," Ebony Maw confirmed heavily. "As you know, no other life-bearing planets are nearby. So yes, it was Earth."
Earth had destroyed Ronan's fleet!
"Are you sure Ronan is dead? Did you see his body?" Thanos asked.
"Yes, Master. Though he was blown apart, I can recognize that he's dead," Ebony Maw replied.
"And my two daughters?" Thanos inquired further.
"We didn't find their bodies, but given the ship explosions… I can't conclude anything," Ebony Maw chose his words carefully.
Implying that Gamora and Nebula may have been obliterated.
The atmosphere fell into heavy silence.
