Chapter 185 - Thunder!

With the speed to even break the sound barrier, Shinra quickly arrived at Skypiea. White, it was all white. Clouds were everywhere, and it was impossible to see anything else.

'If I lived here, it would be terrible.'

Skypiea might seem like a land of a miracle as it existed in the sky, but he knew well that it was hellish as it wasn't much different from those who lived in the desert. It was said that the largest desert in his previous life was Antarctica, that frigid continent that was only filled with ice, but in the world of One Piece, the largest desert wasn't owned by the Arabasta Kingdom, but Skypiea.

Yes, those beautiful clouds, while they might take away the eyes of everyone as they thought that they were inside heaven, Shinra knew well that it was hell, especially when nothing could grow on it.

Without land, it meant that they couldn't grow food.

The only land and resources that the people on this land could get were from those pieces of land, or many other things, such as animals, that were pushed up by the Knock Up Stream to the clouds.

If there were no Knock Up Stream, the people on Skypiea would all die.

Arabasta was better off since it had lands and many other resources that one could only find in the desert. More importantly, if they lacked everything, they could use a trade to exchange for food or water.

However, Skypiea was like an isolated community, without anyone that they could rely on, and with limited resources.

If there was anything good about Skypiea, it was that this land didn't lack water, as the clouds could produce a lot of water, and as the vapor from the ocean merged into the clouds, they had no need to worry about a lack of water.

Regardless, this was the reason why the City of Gold, which was blasted by the Knock Up Stream, had become a treasure that every person in the sky wished to get. Yes, it might be unfair for the native, who originally lived in the City of Gold, but the people in the sky were given two choices.

Would they continue to let their people die due to the lack of food, or fight the natives by taking away their land?

"Who is right?"

When this question was asked, whether it was Robin, Carina, or Baby 5, they couldn't give a proper answer and just remained silent.

"If the native is strong enough, then they will be okay, though."

"Unfortunately, they are weak."

"Then again, the people of the sky aren't that strong, either."

Regardless of the question about this Skypiea, Shinra's focus should be on the Goro Goro no Mi. This Logia type of Devil Fruit was one of the strongest Devil Fruits in his mind, and probably one of the best.

What were the others?

While there were many answers, his answer would be Pika Pika no Mi, since as long as one gained the speed of light, who could fight it?

Nika Nika no Mi might appear to be the strongest, but if the user of Goro Goro no Mi, or Pika Pika no Mi, wanted to run away, could Luffy chase them?

Speed is power.

While many were sometimes in doubt, Shinra had decided to get this Devil Fruit!

So, was Enel, the user of the Goro Goro no Mi, still alive?

"Be careful. Don't let yourselves be hit by lightning and make many of us become widows early," Robin said softly.

"..."

There were many ways that Shinra could have said it, but as he knew Robin's personality well, who had always thought the worst due to her experience.

"Don't worry."

Regardless, Shinra was calm.

Yes, the lightning might be troublesome, and he also wasn't immune to it. Moreover, if the situation really forced it, then Enel could even run away, far away in the distance that was impossible to reach, but even so, he had confidence that he could defeat Enel.

"Then, I will go now."

"Okay, be careful."

Robin stood in front of him, staring at him, to which Shinra was a bit helpless, then kissed her smooth forehead softly, but when he wanted to leave, Carina wanted the same, so he gave her a smooch on her forehead, and naturally, he also gave one to Baby 5.

"~!"

Baby 5 felt like she was on the ninth cloud!

"Stay here."

As he said, Shinra left the Kamui space and hid himself fully, as he knew well that all of Skypiea was under the observation of Enel.

The Goro Goro no Mi wasn't just a powerful Devil Fruit, but it could also enhance one's Observation Haki.

According to Oda, the mangaka, as Coby was developed to become one of the strongest, naturally, his talent, which was his Observation Haki, was strengthened further, and could reach two kilometers in radius.

However, Enel, with his Goro Goro no Mi, could go beyond, as his Observation Haki could cover the entire Skypiea, without missing a single person, and as everyone was under his observation, he could send lightning to any places and any people he wanted to, as long as he wished to.

If Luffy weren't the protagonist, he would have died.

Still, could Enel notice Shinra, who was in his Observation Killing mode?

The answer was no.

Shinra had the confidence that he could walk onto Skypiea unnoticed, completely hidden from Enel, who had such a monstrous Observation Haki ability, especially when he had the Sube Sube no Mi, which made him able to manipulate the concept slip, and by using this ability, wouldn't he be able to slip away from other consciousnesses?

Like the Koei Style he learned from the world of Kengan, which gave him a movement technique that allowed him to walk into someone's blind spot, he went further by making himself completely undetectable. Even if he could be detected, his presence was like those pebbles on the street.

If you saw those pebbles, then you saw them, but most of the time, people wouldn't notice as their senses were limited to perceiving the information before them, and usually erase those that they didn't pay attention to.

So, even if Enel had a strong Observation Haki, he couldn't notice him, who slipped away from everyone's observation, making him completely unperceivable.

Soon, as Shinra continued to walk, his luck seemed to be good, as it seemed that Luffy and his group didn't seem to be going after Skypiea.

'Let's finish it as soon as possible.'

"When will Maxim be completed?"

A man with long earlobes asked his followers boredly.

"It will be soon, God."

"Don't make me wait too long."

"Yes, God!"

No one dared to question him, as he was the god, someone with the mightiest power that could destroy everything.

The power of lightning.

No mortal had ever thought that they could even do anything against this power.

Enel also had never thought that those mortals around him could do anything to him, so he had been lazing around, eating, drinking, and playing as he wished. When he was bored, he would kill a few, watching them scream as they pitifully begged him for mercy.

Did he feel nothing towards them?

Not really, especially when Enel was isolated, bullied, and almost killed due of his difference from others, considering how unlike the others, mortals, who had wings, he didn't have them, so he had been thinking to go beyond the sky, the space, thinking that as a god, he should be born from the moon instead of born among all of those mortals.

In that place, he thought that he could achieve his dream, but before he went, he had decided to destroy Skypiea, as this place, which was ugly and filled with a fight, shouldn't exist.

Yet, as he was on the land of a dream, thinking of his happy future, all of a sudden, a blade was stabbed into his body, and before he could even react, a darkness swallowed him, then everything was meaningless.

At the same time, Shinra also came out from his hiding place, using his Sharingan to hypnotize everyone as he gained his new power, the Goro Goro no Mi.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

As the cloud gathered and became gloomily dark, Shinra gained the power of thunder!
