Chapter 19 - .19

"Mommy, Rain didn't do it on purpose!"

Rain's tears were falling like rain, which made Danielle feel distressed.

She quickly ran over, picked him up, and checked him. "Mommy knows. Are you hurt anywhere? Let me see!"

"My butt, my butt hurts!"

Rain pitifully held his little bottom.

Danielle pulled open his pants to take a look. "It's okay, it's okay, Mommy will rub it for you."

"Oh, it's you, Miss Danielle. So this is your son? In that case, I won't blame him."

Zhang Jian stood up from the ground, looking wronged while throwing flirty looks at Danielle.

Earlier, after being scolded by Danielle, he had already given up on hitting on women. But then he heard some gossip from coworkers about a rich lady who had just arrived—with ten million in savings. That stirred his greedy thoughts again.

And so… this situation happened.

Zachary stood beside them, radiating a cold aura. He reached out and took Rain from Danielle's arms.

"Danielle!"

That one word carried a hint of anger.

Zhang Jian smiled slightly. "Miss Danielle, is this your man? He seems hot-tempered. Not like me, I've got a great temper. Even if I get bumped into, I don't fuss with kids."

Danielle's forehead was twitching with irritation.

The smell of trouble was strong.

She didn't dare look at Zachary's dark and scary face. She turned coldly to Zhang Jian.

"You think I'm blind? Was it my son who ran into you, or did you do it on purpose? You think I didn't see? Want to check the surveillance?"

Zhang Jian froze. Was that important?

It's just a son, not a daughter. Why so protective?

He looked pitifully at Danielle. "But Miss Danielle, my stomach…"

"You deserve it. With a heart like yours, lucky you didn't get killed."

Danielle looked at him with complete disgust. "It's bad enough you're ugly, but you still dream big. I said I'm married, and you're still trying to flirt? Does your kitchen need new tools—or are you just cheap?"

Zhang Jian looked like he was struck by lightning. She said he was ugly?

He looked at Zachary's tanned face in disbelief, then burst into tears and ran off. Too humiliating.

Danielle sneered. Disgusting. No manly charm at all. Zachary was way better.

She turned back to Zachary with a sweet smile. How was that? Did I do good?

Zachary still looked cold, but the corners of his lips curled slightly.

"Let's go home. Rain is hungry."

"I'll cook something good at home. How about tomato and eggs?"

Zachary and Rain's eyes lit up instantly.

Back at home, Danielle got busy right away...

But as soon as they got home, Zachary disappeared.

As night fell, Danielle was giving a muddy Rain a bath.

This kid had insisted on helping water the garden—only to soak himself instead.

Hearing the door, Danielle thought Zachary was back.

"You're home? Wait a bit before coming in, I'll finish bathing Rain first."

There was no reply from outside, but Danielle didn't think much of it.

"Let's go, Mommy will take you out for dinner!"

Just as Danielle opened the bathroom door, a cold iron blade came swinging down from above.

Danielle had no time to react. In shock and fear, she instinctively activated her space ability.

The next second, both she and Rain vanished into thin air...

The black-clothed man in the room was terrified. How could people just disappear?

According to the intel, the target had just awakened a space-type ability. Newly awakened space users could only store things, right?

How could she vanish like that? Was she really that powerful already?

The black-clothed man was stunned, but Danielle and Rain, now inside the space, were just as stunned.

The heart that was panicking before calmed down when seeing the lush greenery in front.

Rain blinked. "Mom, where are we? It's so pretty. Are those tomatoes? There are so many!"

He even made a slurping sound without thinking.

Danielle looked at the familiar land and the unfamiliar plants, then cleared her throat.

"They should be."

Actually, they were.

But compared to the tomato plants from her past life—tied up neatly and carefully trimmed—these ones looked wild and messy. Some even had tomatoes that had fallen on the ground.

Thinking of how each tomato costs over a thousand, Danielle felt a sting in her heart.

"Rain, wait here. Mommy will go pick some for you."

Danielle stepped onto the field and carefully lifted the plants.

She saw that the tomatoes on the ground were still fresh and picked them up directly.

"Rain, do you want to eat?"

"Yes, yes, yes! Rain wants to eat."

Rain had never eaten raw tomatoes before and clapped his hands in excitement.

Danielle nodded and washed them in a small nearby spring.

"Go ahead and eat."

Looking at the juicy, bright red tomatoes, Danielle couldn't resist and started eating too.

As Rain ate, he looked at Danielle with curiosity.

"Mom, where is this place? Why did we suddenly come here?"

"Oh no!"

Danielle suddenly remembered that someone outside was trying to kill her.

She had almost forgotten because the sudden change in the space was so overwhelming.

"Be good, Rain. You keep eating. Mommy has something to take care of."

Rain was still young and had been wrapped in a towel earlier, so he probably didn't see what happened just now.

Danielle carried him on her back and lightly touched a spot in the space with her finger. Instantly, that area became transparent.

She could clearly see the outside—there was a man in black rummaging around like a fool.

"That's my pot!"

"And my food—don't touch it."

Seeing the man reaching for her food on the table, Danielle couldn't hold back and threw a tomato.

Splat.

The tomato hit the man square on the head, and juice ran down his face.

Danielle snorted coldly and started dialing the rescue number.

There was no police in this world, only the Pureland Guard Team.

But their job was basically the same.

As soon as she made the call, Danielle realized something was wrong—no one answered.

Dora, you're really something.

Danielle bit her teeth hard. She had originally thought that she wasn't the original owner of the body, and as long as she lived a good life, the old grudges between her and Dora would fade.

Even if Dora didn't like her and caused her some trouble, she could live with that.

But now, Dora actually wanted her dead.

Since that's the case, Dora, don't blame me for being ruthless.

Dora hung up the call to the guard team and immediately dialed Zachary.

At that moment, Zachary was holding a box and hurrying home.

He thought the call from Dora must be to tell him to come eat, so he hung up.

Dora…

Damn it, answer the call, just answer it!

Click.

Before she could call again, the door opened from the outside.

The man in black hid.

Zachary walked in, unaware of everything.
