Chapter 27 - Accompany The Kid

Lillian stiffened visibly.

Then, pretending to not hear his words, she turned her head and began to nonchantly walk the other way.

The corner of Sebastian's lips twitched.

Extending his hand, he grabbed on to Lillian's wrist and pulled her back. Her hand dropped, and her gaze fell on Sebastian.

They widened noticeably.

"Sebastian? What are you doing here?" Lillian asked in shocked.

Sebastian flicked on her forehead. A playful smile touched his lips as he said, "Quit acting."

"You can carry on with what you have to do. I assume you're busy," Lillian stated, "My brother will get worried if I don't return."

"Your brother? The Lu family?" Sebastian asked. He reached out to grab the bar of chocolate from her hand.

Leaning back against the wall, he took a bite out of it.

Lillian visibly furrowed her brows in displeasure.

She got herself a sweet treat after so long, and he stole it.

The subtle anger in her eyes entertained Sebastian more. Although she tried to pull on a long face and act mature, there was a hidden childishness within her compatible with her age.

Lillian nodded.

Sebastian shrugged his shoulders. Then, leaning closer to her, he placed the metal gun underneath her chin. Her brows furrowed further.

"Next time, Little Rose, don't go around being so curious. This time, I spared you for being cute. But I won't be generous everytime."

A dark glint crossed through eyes.

Lillian knew it wasn't simply about today. Sebastian grew up having to keep himself guarded, and in turn, it made him territorial and paranoid. He let no one get an advantage over him.

If he considered her a threat, he would have no issue getting rid of her.

But no matter how dangerous he was, she needed him.

As he was about to leave, she grabbed his sleeve, pulling him back.

Staring at him blankly, she brought up, "Come with me to my campus tomorrow. I need to bring a guardian."

"What?" He seemed confused for a second.

"You're considerably older than me," Lillian said, "Play the role of my older brother tomorrow. I got suspended for cheating."

"Suspended for cheating? Are you too ashamed to bring over your real older brother?"

Lillian shook her head.

"There was nothing worth cheating for. However, it would be too troublesome for him. This is a small matter," Lillian spoke out.

"Too bad, I am busy," expressed Sebastian.

"I can be a good ally to you. Aren't you going to reconsider? No matter how much smart and sneaky you're, you wouldn't be able to beat Ethan on your own, especially since he has the backing of Chen Family."

Also, there was Eva— his golden finger. She had the vision to predict all the dangers for Ethan and allow him to win in his career. Sebastian couldn't go against it.

"You think a mere Chen Family scares me?" Sebastian questioned.

"You shouldn't underestimate them. What matters the most is luck, and the Chen Family has the best luck," Lillian vocalized.

She understood why the value of Eva rose in the eyes of Chen Family. She designed the best path for them to take.

Sebastian stared at her in contemplation for few seconds. Although Lillian had nerves made of steel, there was something about Sebastian that intimidated her.

It was his unpredictability.

Even after getting all the information on him from the novel, she never understood his thought process.

This bothered yet intrigued her.

"Alright, I will go with you to school tomorrow," he expressed, bringing relief on to Lillian.

Then, a chuckle left his mouth, and he lightly commented, "This will be funny."

After that, he walked away from there.

Lillian tilted her head in confusion.

Funny?

Was she missing something?

Before Lillian could gather her thoughts, she felt a hand press down on her head. She tilted her head to find Jasper standing there behind her.

"What are you doing running around?" he asked.

"I came out to buy something," she replied.

"Don't foolishly get deceived my anyone here," he reminded, "and then cry."

The next day, Sophie came over to drop her off to the University. She even bought her a box of fancy imported chocolates for luck.

The moment Lillian got down from her car, she patted on her shoulder and expressed, "If you get too scared, give me a call. If needed, I will break in through the gates and set the building to fire to do you justice."

Lillian stared at her friend in amusement and shook her head.

"I have it all under control. I am bringing with me someone who won't let me lose." A hint of slyness was shown in Lillian's eyes.

Sophie stared at her friend in confusion. "Who?"

Lillian pointed with her eyebrow.

Sophie followed her line of sight, and they fell on Sebastian. The tall and handsome leaned against the blue sports car, holding a cigarette in his hand.

The white silk shirt worn by him draped loosely on his body, matched with a pair of black dress pants. A dainty silver chain hung around his neck, and silver earrings adorned his ears.

He looked like the perfect example of a dandy playboy. His appearance caught the eyes of all the nearby female students, and they began to shyly look at him.

Sophie raised one of her brows in confusion. "He looks reliable in your eyes?"

"Don't underestimate him," Lillian pointed out before making her way over to him.

Right then, two women walked towards him. One of them blushed heavily as she softly asked, "Can I add you on WeChat?"

"Sorry. For now, I have to accompany the kid to the campus," he expressed with regret in his voice.
