Liya was true to her words. She didn't know anyone of them. She said, "I really don't know anyone of you. And I don't even know your brother. Stop this nonsense and get out of my house." Sensing the change in his mother's tone Inu hid behind Liya clutching on her dress more tightly. Liya moved a step back holding on to Inu seeing how afraid he was.
Yul was getting angry on seeing Liya's non-admittance. He asked, "It was clearly Yaniv in the photograph with you. And you are Inu's mother. The DNA report also states that Inu is my brother's son. So what are you playing at? Is it money or inheritance from Amarok?"
"I told you, I have nothing to do with you or your brother. Inu is my son, mine only. I never came to you for anything right? Then why are you bothering us? Moreover, you barged in to my life and house. You investigated everything about us and even did DNA test without my consent. Now you are saying that Inu is your brother's son. How can anyone believe any of this? Before I call the Police, please get out of my house." Liya was also losing patience, but beyond that she was scared.
Yul could see that what she said made a point. But that didn't matter now, as he was here to take Inu back to his home, no matter what.
Yul took a deep breathe to calm himself and asked, "So you are saying that you don't know my brother Yaniv?"
"Yes" Liya replied firmly without batting an eye.
Yul sneered at her arrogance in disgust and said, "If that's so, then why haven't you still called the Police? You had plenty of time from yesterday until now to call for help. You didn't dare to do that because you already know that you are at wrong here, aren't you?"
Yul took a step closer to Liya. Now Liya had no place to run. She knew that she was cornered in every way. But she still retorted, "I didn't call the Police not because I did something wrong. It's just that I didn't want to be involved in a case in a foreign country. Unlike you, I live here from hand to mouth. I can't afford a case or a lawyer."
"It does make sense, doesn't it?" Devin said in low voice to Yul. Yul just glared back at Devin and questioned Liya further. "Fine! Let's assume that you are right and is telling the truth. But answer me one basic question in this situation..." Yul paused a bit and took another step towards Liya. Then he continued to ask in a surprisingly calm voice unlike before, "Where is your husband? Or rather where is your child's father? You are in danger and you can't call the police. Shouldn't you have at least called for his help? After all it's all about his son's life!"
Devin exclaimed on realizing how Yul turned the argument in just a moment. Now Liya had no more excuses but to admit that Inu was Yaniv's child. She started to tremble a bit and moved further back. She was already in front of the kitchen counter and there was no more space to move. Yul stood in front of her blocking the mother and son between his body and the cabinet. It was even hard to notice the tiny figure hiding behind Liya.
Seeing her troubling to find an excuse, Yul decided to close the argument. He asked her in a very low voice so that Inu can't hear them, "Are you going to say that you don't know who your child's father is? Was it then a one night stand? Or some paid service?"
Hearing Yul's mockery Liya looked into Yul's eyes with anger that could burn him. She tried hard to control her urge to slap his face and replied, "Who is my son's father is none of your business. Instead let me ask you something…" Liya raised her voice in firmness and continued, "You have been claiming that my Inu is you brother's son. But all you have been doing is to talk about him. Where is this guy? If he is my Inu's father, then shouldn't he be here to recognise his son? You better go and ask him first. I bet he will say that he doesn't even know me."
That was some statement from Liya that could again turn the tables. Devin looked at both Yul and Liya who were not at all ready to give up the fight. But Liya had touched a sore spot now. Devin wondered how brutally Yul would be replying to that. The chance for a peaceful negotiation was over.
As expected, Yul got really mad on hearing that. The risen anger in his voice was evident when he said, "Yaniv can't be here. That's why I am here to take his only son back to our home. He is an Amarok, and he should live there as one. Can't you see that, no matter what you do, you don't stand a chance against me?"
Liya got really scared on hearing that and her hands trembled more. The arguments and the anger in the room made Inu hide behind his mother completely and tucked at his mother's dress crying. Liya realized that there was no way out now. No matter what she says, Yul would take back Inu by force. There was no one to ask for help either, because Liya knew that the DNA report was not lying, but neither was her. Without an option Liya turned and took a knife from the kitchen stand. She held Inu behind her with one hand and pointed the knife at Yul.
