Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The First Test

Despite the mistake, the kingdom decided I might be able to help them. They gave me a skill card that said I possessed an ability called:

"Skill Copy" – I could copy any skill I saw used once.

I said to myself, "Okay, I may not be a hero, but I could be an excellent backup."

And so began my journey into this world filled with knights, dragons, and mages... and I, just a student trying to finish a college assignment.

We followed the king into the great hall, where the walls were covered with ancient drawings documenting the myths of this world. The magical motifs on the floor flickered irregularly, as if they lived their own lives. I felt something strange creeping into my body.

There was a huge bench in the center, and in front of it was a round stone slab. The king spoke in a deep voice, "Eyad, before you can learn how to use your new skill, you must first pass a test. You will have to face one of the magical beasts threatening the kingdom."

I realized then that I had entered a world where there was no room for weakness. The future ahead was dark, but there was no escape.

Lilia, the calm witch, stood beside me. She looked at me with her calm eyes and said,

"Don't worry, this test will reveal your strength. And I will be here to guide you."

My heart was beating fast, but at the same time, I felt a sense of comfort in her presence. She was a stranger, but she was a small hope in a world filled with monsters and mysteries.

One of the sages said,

"You won't be alone in this test. Lilia will support you, but be careful! The monsters here know no mercy."

The ground began to shake beneath our feet. Suddenly, the large door opened, as if waiting for a specific moment. A cloud of magical energy emanated from us, and then a huge monster appeared before us, covered in glittering scales and with two beams of glowing red eyes. It moved unnaturally, as if hurtling toward us at speeds faster than light.

Lilia raised her hand, and a ball of shining energy rushed toward the monster. But the monster suddenly undulated, transforming into another being. A huge monster with gaping lips and a bared jaw, roaring with a voice that made the walls of the hall shake.

Lilia said, "Don't give up! Use your skill and copy the abilities."

But the question was: How? Would I be able to copy Lilia's ability? Or would I need another skill I hadn't yet discovered?

The monster raised its head and charged toward us, ready to attack.

At the last moment, I felt something strange inside my body, as if I knew what I had to do. I quickly raised my hand, feeling magical energy flowing through my body. I copied the skill Lilia had used and fired a large magic ball at the monster. The moment the ball hit, the monster shattered into tiny pieces.

Everyone was silent for a few seconds. Then the king said,

"You've succeeded! You've tested your first skill. But this is just the beginning."
