Although Hu Liena still had doubts in her heart…
After all, the Supreme Pontiff's voice sounded… a bit strange, lacking its usual coldness and carrying an indescribable undertone, as if…
As if she were suppressing something?
The trailing tone even carried a faint, unnatural quiver?
But despite her curiosity, since Bibi Dong had clearly expressed her wish to rest, the dismissal in her tone was unmistakable.
Hu Liena could only suppress her doubts and respond respectfully once more.
"Yes, disciple understands. I apologize for disturbing your rest, Teacher. I shall take my leave."
The sound of footsteps echoed, gradually fading away.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
The footsteps seemed to have truly disappeared.
But just as Bibi Dong's taut nerves were about to relax, the footsteps returned!
Though light, slow, and hesitant, they were indeed approaching the door again!
Bibi Dong's heart leapt into her throat once more. Her fingers pressed harder on Dai Chengfeng's wrist, her nails nearly digging into his skin.
Soon, Hu Liena's voice sounded again from outside, tinged with concern:
"Teacher… are you… are you really alright?"
"Disciple… I couldn't help but feel there was something off about your voice earlier… Should I… should I fetch a healing-type soul master to examine you?"
This suggestion sent a shiver down Bibi Dong's spine!
Fetch a soul master? That would be disastrous!
She responded almost immediately, her tone more urgent, stern, and even tinged with offended anger than ever before:
"Hu Liena!"
She used her full name, "I said I'm fine! I just got up because I was thirsty and accidentally bumped into something!"
"When did you become so fussy and suspicious? Do you not trust my words anymore?!"
This sharp rebuke clearly startled Hu Liena outside the door: "Disciple dares not! Disciple knows her mistake! Please forgive me, Teacher! Disciple… disciple will leave at once!"
This time, the footsteps quickly receded, faster than before, and did not return.
Only when she confirmed that the footsteps had completely vanished from her senses did Bibi Dong abruptly turn around!
Her previous forced calm, suppressed anger, stirred-up embarrassment, and the fear brought by Hu Liena's return all erupted in this moment!
Her beautiful face turned frosty, her originally enchanting violet eyes now blazing with flames of humiliation. The hand that had been gripping Dai Chengfeng's wrist instantly moved upward, firmly and precisely seizing one of his ears.
"You wicked disciple! Did you want to die just now?!"
"What if… what if Liena hadn't left or came back and discovered something?! Where would I put my face then?!"
Bibi Dong was both furious and deeply unsettled. That moment earlier—especially when Hu Liena had returned—had been terrifying.
Although she knew Hu Liena wouldn't dare barge into her bedchamber, she still couldn't help but feel tense.
After all, just behind a single door, her disciple who she regarded as a daughter stood outside, while inside, she was being held by another unruly disciple…
This little rascal was utterly shameless and reckless to the extreme!
For a moment, Bibi Dong grew angrier the more she thought about it.
And yet, faced with Bibi Dong's scolding, Dai Chengfeng showed no trace of fear. Instead, he rested his chin on her slender shoulder and nuzzled her, apologizing with a tone that was both ingratiating and cheeky:
"Teacher, I'm sorry! I truly know I'm wrong, okay?"
"I'll never do it again… I just… lost my mind for a moment and couldn't resist."
He leaned closer to her flushed cheeks and ear, inhaling her intoxicating scent—a blend of faint floral fragrance and her unique body aroma. His voice grew deeper and more seductive.
"How could I resist when Teacher is so enchanting? Holding you, feeling your warmth and softness—if I didn't do anything, would I still be a man?"
"Teacher, please forgive me this once, won't you?"
"And besides…"
Before Dai Chengfeng could finish, Bibi Dong's frustration flared anew.
She directly covered his mouth with her hand.
Bibi Dong glared at this shameless disciple, her grip on his ear tightening further as her beautiful eyes widened:
"You… how dare you speak of it?! How dare you bring it up?!"
"If I don't teach you a lesson today, you'll think you can get away with anything!"
With that, she raised her other hand, pretending to pinch his cheek, though the gesture was more like a lover's playful scolding than actual punishment.
Seizing the opportunity, Dai Chengfeng grabbed her wrist as it swung toward him, pulling her even closer, eliminating the already minimal distance between them.
"If Teacher wants to punish me, I accept it willingly."
Dai Chengfeng reined in his mischievous grin, but his gaze remained fiery. "Hit me, scold me—anything to make Teacher feel better."
"But on one condition…"
He paused, his voice low and teasing. "Teacher must first admit that just now… you weren't entirely unaffected."
"You… nonsense!"
Bibi Dong felt his direct gaze and words pierce through her deepest, most hidden feelings. Her cheeks burned crimson, and she struggled to pull her hand free, but he only gripped her tighter.
"Whether I'm lying or not, Teacher knows best."
Dai Chengfeng lowered his head, his forehead lightly pressing against hers, their breaths mingling. His voice was deep and filled with temptation.
"After all, some things can't be faked!"
"Wicked disciple! Be quiet!"
Bibi Dong was overwhelmed with both shame and anger. She turned her head away, unable to meet his piercing gaze that seemed to see through everything.
"Fine, I'll be quiet."
Dai Chengfeng readily agreed, but a sly, triumphant smirk played on his lips.
"Then… may I make amends with actions instead?"
Before Bibi Dong could react, he suddenly leaned down, capturing her slightly parted lips in a precise, passionate kiss.
"Mmm…!"
Although Bibi Dong was still angry, her body had long grown accustomed to Dai Chengfeng's affection. All her scolding and indignation seemed to melt away under the weight of this kiss.
She made a token effort to push him away, but her arms were too weak to exert any real force. Eventually, her tense body gradually relaxed, and the hand that had been gripping his ear loosened, falling limply onto his shoulder instead.
The bedchamber was filled only with their heavy breathing and the subtle sounds of intimacy.
After an unknown amount of time, until both were somewhat out of breath, Dai Chengfeng reluctantly released her. But his lips still lingered teasingly near the corner of her mouth as he murmured hoarsely:
"Teacher, this time… disciple truly knows his mistake."
"Punish me however you wish."
Bibi Dong panted softly, her violet eyes shimmering with moisture. Though her anger and frustration had not fully dissipated, they were now mixed with a dazed haze brought on by the kiss.
She looked at this disciple before her, who appeared sincerely repentant but whose behavior was becoming increasingly audacious. She didn't know whether to hit him or scold him.
In the end, all her emotions condensed into a trembling, embarrassed rebuke. She raised her hand, lightly pounding his chest:
"You… you disrespectful, disloyal disciple!"
