Kai's POV
Zane's stupid lines kept playing in my head like a broken CD, messing with my feelings over and over again as I tried so hard to fight the urge to completely betray my sister and choose myself. Besides, I met him first. But different reasons on why I shouldn't do it keep on countering my heart's desire.
I know I'm doomed. Really, really bad.
"The results will be sent to us later," he said after he closed his laptop.
I didn't go home, and neither did he. He stayed with me in the office and worked hard on the case he insisted on taking, my case.
The smashing of my car and the blackmail letter painted on it is alarming, and no matter how hard I tried to drive Zane away earlier, he just won't let go.
"You don't really have to do this," I said, half annoyed and half relieved.
At least I can see him, and I can make sure that dad won't send someone to hurt him. I know my father and his dirty ways to deal with his enemies.
