"It all started on that day," Neutral narrated"the day it all changed".
The scene goes back several centuries.
A boy was crying for his mother.
"Hic... hic... MOM! Where are you? Don't leave me... like Dad did!" he cried.
The boy was in an almost-destroyed city — buildings completely collapsed, the ground littered with human corpses. Some were fresh, others rotting.
He wore a white T-shirt and black half-trousers, torn, holed, and stained with blood.
He looked like a 7-year-old boy, but tragedy had forced him to grow up too soon.
"Hrr... hrrr!!" echoed in the air.
The boy's face fell when he heard it.
It was a huge beast — about 7 feet tall — walking on four limbs, with tentacles on its face and teeth covered in blood.
He stepped back, but suddenly another appeared behind him.
As soon as he blinked, he was surrounded. It was as terrifying as sitting next to death itself.
At that moment, a sharp, crashing sound emerged — like a jet. Hearing it, all the Narkas ran away.
The boy's hands trembled as he looked up.
Above him was a huge flying ship — an eagle-shaped aircraft with a purple crystal at its bottom.
"MAMMA!! Does it mean I will survive?" he sobbed.
The purple crystal began to glow, as if charging or collecting energy.
In a fraction of a second, a beam of light emerged from it, blinding him in white.
"That's the only thing I remember from my past, before I…" Neutral sighed.
The boy opened his eyes.
He found himself lying on the ground.
"Where am I?" he murmured.
He noticed something strange while looking at the sky.
"Why is it pitch black? And how can I see my hand in this dark place?"
He stood up, dusting his clothes.
He was wearing a deep crimson red hood with thin gold and black trim along the edges. Beneath it, a dark red suit clung to him — not flashy, but carrying a quiet weight.
"How the hell am I wearing these clothes?" he mumbled.
"I didn't even realise… my body was adult. Man, how much of an idiot I was," Neutral mocked himself in a deep, tired voice.
Suddenly, the boy noticed a bright flash or ball of light in the distance.
He stepped toward it but struck something hard.
"What the hell is this?" he barked.
It was an invisible wall.
He was inside a box — as big as a room, but with no door or window.
And he couldn't leave.
"Why, dear? I am stuck in this thing… it's just not fair!" he murmured, glancing back at the glaring ball of light. "But it—"
"Feels like someone… something I knew. It's… I don't know — is it anxiety, fear, or comfort? What kind of feeling am I… feeling?" he said.
"It was as if I never knew I would know but still felt it. One thing was clear — time was passing like a flash of light," Neutral moaned. "But it was—"
The boy lay on the ground, staring at the sky.
"It's pitch black… but not terrifying," he sighed.
"A Bwoom—lzznk" sound emerged.
Hearing it, the boy stood up and saw—
"What the heck is that?" he exclaimed.
A crystal was forming into a pillar, crystallising all over.
It grew as fast as bamboo until it stood six feet tall.
"For me, it was a fraction of a second… but now it feels like months."
"Something I can see… something interesting!" the boy shouted, jumping in excitement.
He laughed and jumped as if it were a great achievement.
But suddenly, he stopped. Something cracked.
"No, no… NO! Don't, don't!" he screamed.
The pillar began crackling, a glowing aura in its centre — like an egg about to hatch.
The boy's face fell.
"Because I jumped… I broke it," he whispered.
Suddenly, the pillar shattered, and a man emerged.
He was about 5'8" tall, around 18–20 years old, wearing identical clothes — but all white with golden trim — and a mask covering his face.
"What the heck is it?" the boy shouted.
"It's just a waste of time… it's just… neutral, right?"
"Oh, oh, you! Man, I am talking to you! Please listen, please talk to me!" he cried repeatedly, but it was just a waste of time.
"I… my life was as hell as an ant's which lives in molten," Neutral declared. "But time was water."
"Man, it's been weeks! You're just standing there. Just tell me where we are. Tell me!" He rubbed his head. "Please… have I done something wrong?"
"No. It was I who did it," echoed the voice.
The boy looked up to see the man turning toward him, his hand on his mask.
"What is happening?" the boy exclaimed.
The man removed his mask. His face was identical to the boy's.
"Are you me?" the boy inquired.
The man smiled as his clothes turned black.
"Could be, could not," he replied, turning toward the light.
Hearing someone's voice for the first time in years, the boy's eyes became moist.
"He talked to me," he exclaimed in joy — but it didn't last long.
The man started walking away.
The boy stood up.
"Don't go! Don't go, don't leave me!"
"But nothing was useful. Each thing that happened to me was temporary — sorry, cool off the people," Neutral murmured.
Suddenly, his vision blurred, and he collapsed to the ground.
When he opened his eyes, he saw only the dark sky again.
"Not again," he sobbed. "I am alone… again for years. Nothing I can do; just… I can only cry. Hie… hie…"
All of a sudden, he heard something.
"Goo–goo–hee!"
He turned to see a baby giggling while looking at him.
"It was a turning point for me," Neutral beamed.
