Chapter 1 - Returning back alive

Chapter 1 Returning back alive

Working overtime but barely getting paid, that was my life.

I had been working to this company for more than 10 years, there were even times that my salary wasn't payed.

Getting absolutely nothing in return made me hate my life.

This company was one of those exploitative black company.

Who overworked their employees to the bone with bare minimum salary and today it was my final day.

I was gonna resign to this company.

Because I had found a better job position of another company that was one of the largest business in the business world.

To think I'm finally leaving this company who I had worked for 10 years but getting nothing in return made me happy.

Standing at the company's building who I had worked for 10 years, I walked for one last time.

As usual the sight wasn't very pleasant as the people who worked there looked tired and stress.

I was even one of those people back then, but this time I walked inside my boss office for one last time.

"Oh Lucas what are you here for? Don't tell me you want a raise?"

"Sorry but as you know the company has been going through hard times."

"I'm tired of hearing that everytime and can't you say a better excuse? Today I came here to say one thing, I'm resigning"

"But why Lucas? Don't tell me you found another job that's better than mine?"

"That's exactly what it is" "And I'm finally leaving this shit hole"

I quickly handed my resignation letter and made some awful comments about my boss before leaving quickly.

"You little shit, come back here!" My boss shouted at me.

But I could care less for what I had done because at the thought of leaving this company, it made me happy.

Finally outside, I had thought how my future would look now after getting this once in a lifetime job offer from another company.

In the streets bustling with people, the pedestrian light had finally turned green.

The people around me began to cross the road and so I was too.

Looking in the road, a car was speeding that I could notice it.

I was about to cross the road but my intuition said otherwise.

And sure enough the car began speeding uncontrollably, people who were crossing the road began to run.

Instead of the car going through the middle, it suddenly ran towards my direction.

I began running away from it but then a sudden surge of pain hit me, my vision was fading.

I shouted "Help!" Heeeeelp!"

I was hit by the speeding car. My body felt like everything was breaking inside me.

I coughed up blood, my vision almost turning black.

To think I was dying on the day that my future would change, I asked myself why me? Why not those people?

My thoughts began to wander.

I felt like everything was slowly gonna fade out.

I could hear the ambulance rushing over to me.

It was a futile attempt at saving me, I felt like this was my last day in life.

My vision slowly blacked out.

A weird sensation could be felt from my body.

"Is this what death feels like?" "It feels nice and peaceful"

"Emperor…" Suddenly I could hear a voice trying to wake me up.

"Bad news…" I slowly opened my eyes and began looking around, black red pristine walls with a huge bed around.

It was me who was sleeping in this bed that felt like I had rested in eternity.

This wasn't the world I knew but I felt a familiar feeling of this world as if I knew it.

And looking in front of me was a person that felt like I had knew him.

Then suddenly, I felt an extreme headache coming from my head, it was the information gathered throughout this body.

There I finally knew who I was and who the person in front of me was…

I was the Emperor of Antares Empire in the game called [Nations Rise].

In the game [Nations Rise] there were two sides you could choose, it was the Empire's side or the Allied Nation's side.

The game had different storylines whether you chose the Empire's side or the Allied Nation's side.

In the Empire's side the goal was to conquer the world.

While the Allied Nation's side was to defeat the Empire's rise of power and return back the peace.

The technological level of this world was like world war 2 history to my previous world.

The only different thing is that magic existed here.

For most players who I had seen playing that game, they mostly chose the Allied Nation's side for one reason.

It was because the difficulty was much easier and starting out with more key locations compared to the Empire.

Only a few select of people had chosen the Empire's side despite it being more difficult.

It was because the higher the stakes the higher the reward would be and the thrill of conquering the game's difficulty.

I was one of those people who had chosen the Empire's side.

In the Empire's side, you would start out with less resources and no key locations.

Which made the game very hard to progress.

Each run would cost me failure as the game was very realistic despite being a game.

But 10,000 hours poured into that game, you could say I was an addict for that game.

But one good thing was I knew everything what would happen.

Now back to my current situation, I remembered that this person in front of me was my military chief advisor Sebastian.

Sebastian looked just as like in the game, a blonde hair, black eyes and with a face that looked manly that would encourage you.

He wore a black attire and his tall stature made him look commanding.

Sebastian was one of the highest rated 5 stars character when it came to strategies of war in the game [Nations Rise].

And one of the loyal subjects that stayed to the Emperor's side no matter what.

Despite Antares Empire being called an Empire.

It was only 2x bigger than most nations in the game which made it very hard to play this side.

Recalling my memories of the game, I was called Emperor Vonn Anderson.

But the previous owner of this body preferred his people to call him Emperor.

I looked around in my mirror, a handsome face, brown eyes with black hair and I wore a dark red attire.

And around 180 cm tall compared to the game where you could barely see the character.

Antares Empire was located in south west of the globe in this world.

Which made it a good starting location as only 1 nation bordered us.

While lost in my thoughts Sebastian looked at me with a hint of anxiety in his eyes.
