Chapter 4: Training the Troops
Srabon stood in front of the newly constructed Barracks, his hands resting on his hips. The wooden structure still smelled of fresh lumber, and inside, the Barbarians were practicing their swings with wooden clubs.
"Alright, listen up!" Srabon called out, trying to sound authoritative. "Today, we're going to focus on basic attack formations."
The Barbarians exchanged confused glances. One of them, a particularly burly man with a wild beard, stepped forward. "Chief, we've only ever charged head-on. What's a formation?"
Srabon blinked. In the game, troops followed orders without question. Here, they needed to be taught.
"It's... a strategy," Srabon said, fumbling for words. "Instead of just rushing in, we'll split into groups. One group distracts the enemy, and the other goes for the Gold Mine. Got it?"
The Barbarians nodded, though they still looked unsure.
[New Quest: Complete a Training Session with 10 Barbarians. Reward: 150 Gold, 100 Elixir.]
Srabon clenched his fists. "Alright, let's begin!"
He guided the Barbarians through a series of drills — charging in pairs, flanking imaginary enemies, and protecting the weaker units. Sweat poured down their brows as they swung their clubs and shouted war cries.
Meanwhile, the Builder watched from the sidelines, arms crossed. "Not bad, Chief," he said, a grin on his face. "They're already looking sharper."
Srabon wiped his forehead, panting. "They're strong, but they're still uncoordinated. If we're going to attack another village, we need to be more organized."
The Builder's expression grew serious. "Are you thinking of attacking already?"
Srabon's jaw tightened. "We need resources. Gold and Elixir. If we don't expand, we'll get left behind."
The Builder nodded. "Then let's keep training."
Srabon looked back at the Barbarians, who were now slamming their clubs against wooden dummies with renewed vigor. A fire burned in his eyes.
This was just the beginning.
