Seeing how moody her friend looked, Annabelle decided to lighten the atmosphere.
"Would you come on a blind date with me?"
Selina gasped audibly, covering her mouth in disbelief, her eyes nearly bulging.
"Are you seriously cheating on your boyfriend? How could you do something so underhanded, Anna?" she chastised, shaking her head in mock horror.
"I'm not cheating on him!" Annabelle protested, a laugh bubbling up despite the situation.
"Count me out," Selina declared firmly. "I won't let you hurt that innocent guy."
Annabelle chuckled, finding humour in the tension. "I could never cheat on him. I'm asking if you'd consider going on a date because I'm introducing you to a handsome, wealthy man with an incredible personality. Someone warm, sweet, handsome, wealthy and who would treat you like a priceless jewel." She took a long sip of her beer, the cool drink refreshing against her lips.
