Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Tony's POV

"So let me get this straight, Lisa signed the papers and you got the woman you want. So why are you not happy exactly?" Tony's work friend Harry asked.

"Dude she was not supposed to sign the papers so fast, I wanted her to beg for me but she just gave up. I don't understand" he shrugged while sipping on his morning coffee.

"Don't you think you have made a mistake somewhere?" Harry asked.

He never meddled in Tony's affairs. They would have coffee together and talk about a lot of stuff together. Their friendship was strong but they were good co-workers too.

"Just forget about it ok" Tony scoffed.

"Oh come on, you can't be serious," Harry scoffed.

"Look, Lisa has to remain my puppet, she has to pay for betraying me, she was secretly on birth control all these years just so she doesn't give me children. How can I forgive such a woman? Besides I have proof. Melanie is perfect for me. She's honest!" Tony grunted.

He traced his hand on the mug cup and wondered why Lisa didn't fight harder, despite him being so cruel to her. He wanted her to be wrapped around his finger.

"Is all this drama necessary for the marriage you worked so hard for in the beginning? After you lost your parents, and everything you owned. She built you this empire, "Harry pointed out.

"Shut up Harry! You're crossing the line now. I made this empire not her." A wave of anger flashed through Tony. His breath was fanning heavily.

"I made her!" He grunted.

"Keep telling yourself that." Harry rolled his eyes, and picked a few papers on Tony's table and left the office.

LISA'S POV

Drowned in a pool of sadness, Lisa locked herself in the house and sobbed, letting out all her anger and frustration. All throughout the time, Alice stayed with Lisa and comforted her.

"Thank you for letting me stay with you, that house was suffocating me. It was hard for me to heal knowing I'm in the house where the person I loved lived." Lisa sniffled.

"It's okay baby, as long as you are feeling better, I don't mind you being here." Alice smiled.

Lisa sat on the sofa and started surfing through the channels trying to see which one she may like.

She saw a press conference of Tony with none other than Melanie.

"Change the channel," Alice pleaded. " It's not good for you."

"No I want to hear this" Lisa requested.

Tony announced his engagement to Melanie, Lisa felt her heart sink, she could not believe the man she once loved so dearly would be leaving her for someone else. An ex-girlfriend for that matter.

Alice switched off the TV, "That's it! I don't want you to sit here and hurt yourself like this. Lisa it's been barely a day, Tony and Melanie are out there living their best life. Don't you think you need to put yourself first too?"

"I don't know, I don't feel like doing anything." Lisa groaned through her pillow.

"Come on, we can go out. Just you and I, we can have fun like the good old days and you won't have to worry about anything. I'll do your makeover and everything, you just have to try and put this behind you." Alice pleaded, batting her eyes and curling her pink lips.

Lisa looked at Alice with empathy, she couldn't let her problems stop her best friend from being happy. She had to step up and live her life, because she was not going to let a man tarnish her.

"Okay okay…. I'm sure I have a few items on my list that I can put on." Lisa smirked.

The two dressed up that evening and went to the most happening club in town, it was one of the most happening places in town. It was luxurious and classy. Alice and Lisa aimed to have a wonderful time, putting everything behind them like it never happened.

Alice wore a black strapless dress and Lisa wore a scarlet red curvy, short dress. Her hair was held up in a head pony and had her signature red lipstick. Her blue eyes aligned with her blond hair making her irresistible.

"Wow Lisa, you look amazing… Now let's go have fun!" Alice cheered . It had been a long time since she saw her friend that dressed up and happy.

They drove off at the club. The music played loud, beautiful cars parked by the roadside.

"Well come on, let's get in, we can't just stand here" Alice cheered.

They got in and the night began, they had a few drinks,

While at the counter, someone suddenly bumped and spilled their drink on Lisa.

"Hey watch where you are going!-" Lisa yelled.

She turned and looked at the person, noticing that it's the strange man who saved her from the goons…

Mr Styles.

They locked eyes, everything around them felt mute. She never realized how handsome he was, his eyes, his neat, black and silky hair and sweet fragrance. His presence commanded authority.

Lisa gulped, looking at the tall man in front of her with wine spilled on his pure white shirt and hers.

"I'm sorry miss…. Hey I think I remember you, the lady from the dark alley, the one who felt brave enough to walk alone at night," he smirked.

"Ah I wasn't, I ran out of fuel and actually sir, I was going to be just fine." Lisa said, folding her arms closer to her.

"Huh uh" he rolled his eyes, "sure I believe you, the guy with the knife almost made a leather jacket out of you." He teased sheeply and innocently.

"Am I missing something here?" Alice disrupted, coming out from the dance flow with a glass of wine.

" And who are you sir?" she asked.

"Alice, this is Mr. Styles, Liam Styles," she said. "The man who saved me from the goons."

Liam looked at Lisa mesmerized, surprised that she remembered him so vividly. They locked eyes for a second, his eyes traced down to her lips. He gulped a little, forgetting Alice was also there.

"Wow that- that is amazing, thank you for taking care of her." Alice said, "hey I'm going back to the dance floor… and if you need me, just let me know" she winked at Lisa.

Lisa almost face palmed herself, she knew Alice to be dramatic.

"Alright hun, have fun" she said.

As Alice disappeared into the crowd, Lisa stood in front of the tall and handsome gentleman. His cologne filled her nostrils, pulling her an inch closer to him.

"Well ummm… it was nice talking to you, I'll be getting back to my seat now" she said shyly.

"Great, but wait, here is my personal card. You can call me anytime, maybe we can be friends" he responded.

"Friends with me?" Lisa thought deeply about it,

"Yeah, friends. I can be protecting you 24/7 from goons (chuckles)" he teased.

"Haha very funny, Am not all that trouble" Lisa responded sheeply.

She stared at the card in hand, at first she hesitated to collect it, then agreed. After all, he saved her life. It's the least she could do.

She took his card and he gave her a little hug leaving some of his scent on her.

Lisa and Alice had a time of their lives together.

While at the club, Lisa sat on her chair wondering if she should text him or not.

"Should I text him?" She thought… debating on the matter, she decided to send him a text the very same night.

With the music playing loud and the atmosphere chilled. Lisa decided to just go for it, fully knowing he mentioned being friends. Afterall she could have a chance to know her saviour a little more.

He immediately replied to her text. Turns out, he was still at the club but in a different section. The two talked throughout the night like they have known each other a long time ago.

For a while, she felt like she had forgotten her grief and pains, her divorce with her ex husband and his infidelity.

"Do you mind if I drive you girls home? I want you to be safe" Liam asked..

"No it's fine, we will manage" Lisa responded.

"Come on, I'm very much sober if that's what you are worried about" he scoffed. "Do you trust me?"

"This strange man was full of wonders, even while tipsy and drowsy, somehow I feel like I can trust him" Lisa thought.

"Well, what do you say? I insist on keeping you and your friend safe." He smiled.

"Okay fine" she replied. Putting her phone in her purse. She caught up with Alice and had a wonderful time.

"Lisa! How can you trust this man? Sure he saved you and all but what if he hurts us or worse?" Alice panicked as they walked out the club.

"Come on, he seems honest-ish" she shrugged her shoulders.

"Honest-ish?" A manly voice spoke from behind. It was Mr Liam styles. He had a warm smile on his face, and hands in his pockets.

"Uhm no I said something else" Lisa defended herself sheeply.

"If he murders us, it's on you" Alice muttered silently, while giving him a warning side eye.

He chuckled a little, " shall we start off? New friend" he teased.
