"You will be reincarnated into the world of Naruto."
"What??!?! Can't you at least pick a show I've actually finished?" The man floating in the darkness of space shouted as he looked at the only source of light, the glowing white orb in front of him.
The man floating in space is a dead human named Tom.
He had died minutes ago, and of all the things he envisioned of the afterlife, this wasn't it: a glowing orb telling you it was sending you to another world, after saying it was the one true God.
"I refuse to go, you might as well just send me to hell. I'll just die in that world anyway." Tom says, looking at the orb.
"It's not a choice, you will go, most would be happy for a second life, you know." The orb pulses as a deep and calm voice echoes through the entire space.
"Then give it to them, you know how I spent my life gambling away any and everything I had. I know my luck is shit, I've lost ninety percent of the bets I've made. It only makes sense that my bad luck would follow me to the next life if I had one." He says with a sigh.
"Look, it's not that I don't want to live, I just don't see the point if I don't even have a fighting chance."
"So, you just want a fighting chance."
"Granted."
"Wait, what?"
"I'll give you a fighting chance and prove to you that your luck isn't shit, you just weren't applying yourself." The voice echoed as the glow of the orb grew until Tom had to cover his eyes.
As he opened his eyes, he saw a blue transparent screen floating in front of him, listing four things:
Chakra nature: -
Kekei Genkai:-
Village:-
Appearance:-
"What's this?" He asks, pointing to the screen.
"It's the fighting chance you wanted, and also the proof of your good luck." The orb responded its voice, containing a tinge of anticipation.
" A screen, how is it going to do that?" Tom asked, clearly not convinced.
"I am going to randomize your chakra nature, kekei genkai, and village for your second life. As for appearance, you can pick it."
"Isn't this a bit too irresponsible? What if I get all the bad things?" Tom asked.
" Then it proves you were right, and you'll have the pleasure of being the only being in existence to have proved me wrong, just think of it like a gamble." The orb said in a teasing voice.
" A gamble?" Tom asked, his voice now uncertain.
"Yeah, the biggest gamble of your life." The orb added.
"Alright, I'll do it, not like I had a choice anyway."
"No, you did not, so let's get started. I've set different parameters for each section, so let's start with chakra nature. First, the screen randomly generates a number and then randomly generates the natures based on the number."
" Okay, I'm ready." Tom says, staring at the screen.
On the screen, a zero appeared, and then the number started changing rapidly and randomly as the speed increased until Tom couldn't track it anymore.
After about thirty seconds, it came to a dead stop, revealing the number three, and before Tom could react, it disappeared, replaced by three words. Fire, water, and wind.
"Yes!!!" Tom shouted, throwing his hands in the air, clearly satisfied with the results.
"Let's move on to the village. The parameters for this are simple: every village in the shinobi world." The orb said, seemingly not the least bit surprised by Tom's first result.
This time, Tom looked at the screen, as it randomly flipped through some symbols that he didn't know.
This time, he wasn't as worried, he only knew of the five great nations, but guessed they were more, maybe smaller and weaker.
Of course, he would like to start in one of the big villages, but he didn't think it was that important after all, he could leave when he was ready if he didn't like it.
Soon, the symbols stopped flashing, landing on the only one he knew.
" The hidden leaf." Tom said.
This was the choice he wanted, of course, the village had its problems, but it was the evil he knew, the show at least to where he had watched hadn't shown much of the other villages' problems other than the sand village, so he wasn't sure if the problems they had were worse or not.
"Let's move on to the last one, kekei genkai, with this. If you get a kekei genkai that uses a nature you didn't get, you will automatically get it, but seeing as this is kind of cheating the purpose of this gamble, I have decided to add every character in the show and movies as parameters, meaning if it randomly generates someone who doesn't have a kekei genkai, you get nothing." The orb says its voice again had a tinge of anticipation.
"High risk, high reward. Let's do it."
"Good."
Suddenly, images of characters that Tom knew and those he didn't started flashing in front of him, he didn't even notice that he held his breath, not that it mattered, as he was already dead.
But the process that took thirty seconds felt like an eternity, as he looked at the character in front of him.
He didn't recognize who it was, and the person didn't have any physical characteristics of the clans he knew.
"Fuck!!" Tom shouted as his expression turned grim.
While he was about to fall into depression, the orb was surprised.
'I controlled the first two, giving him good results, but this, I left it to fate. I even turned off my omniscience so I wouldn't know the outcome; his luck really is good.' The orb thinks to itself.
Tom looked at the image of a white-haired man with red eyes dressed in an oversized, high-collared coat wrapped with three leather straps. As he was about to curse again, the orb spoke.
