Talk? Here?
I wasn't sure if he wanted privacy but there was no such thing in this villa. I looked at him, he didn't look particularly serious. At least, not like he did during breakfast.
"Sure," I said slowly and followed him out to the backyard. It was quiet out here, and the pool made it feel surreal.
Jordan stopped in front of the pool and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"How do you do it?" he asked abruptly.
"Do what?" I asked.
He gestured to one of the chairs and I sat, he walked closer to join me.
"Um," he scratched the back of his neck. "The thing is… I want to know how you kept going strong despite all the rumors about you."
I raised a brow. "Why would you want to know that?"
He hesitated for a moment, then looked behind me. I guessed he was looking at the cameras. If he was going to be like this, then why talk about a sensitive topic in the first place?
He exhaled slowly. "I came here to save my career. You see…"
