Chapter 22 - 22. Troublesome woman.

"Wait a moment." Silver-manicured fingers gently tugged at Jonas's shirt sleeve.

The man stopped, his wife stopped, and everyone around them halted as well—right in front of the office lobby's rolling door, glancing at each other in confusion.

Jonas sighed, casting a tired glance at his wife, who had already worn him out since they left home. They had a minor argument about Chelsea's insistence on accompanying him to the office, but—unsurprisingly—she won that battle.

"What is it, huh?"

Chelsea stood on her toes, even though she was already wearing pointed-toe heels with a seven-centimeter lift. She whispered softly, "Do you see me as a woman?"

Hah. This woman.

"No." Firm and flat. Strangely, Chelsea chuckled at the answer.

"Alright." She continued walking, prompting everyone else to follow suit.

It felt stifling to walk beside the CEO and his wife—especially in the morning. Everyone suddenly acted stiff and awkward, though it was oddly amusing to witness.
