When Chelsea suggested they sleep together, the situation was brief and simple. Chelsea only needed Jonas by her side; in fact, she seemed to ignore his presence as she lay on her side with her back to him—while Jonas sat leaning against the headboard, reading a book.
It hadn't even been thirty minutes before Jonas realized Chelsea had fallen asleep, making him briefly wonder—were they truly married?
The rings on their ring fingers were proof enough, but curiosity slowly crept in. Why did Chelsea always act in such contradictory ways—sometimes appearing to want him, and other times seeming completely indifferent?
"Hah. Why am I even bothering?"
He checked his watch. It was still too early to sleep, especially for someone like him who, before marriage, often went out to KTV with his friends and came home at dawn.
"Anyway, I need a shower." He got up, closed the book, and set it beside the bedside lamp, carefully moving off the bed so as not to disturb Chelsea.
