Chapter 1 - Prologue: A Destine Pack

"Running away was the only option I had. Forgive me but such a hideous and dangerous monster can't be defeated. It's impossible for me. I can't help. Sorry. So sorry."

The boy whispered repeatedly, rushing down an unknown path in an attempt to escape the being left behind him. He couldn't care less where he was going or how far away he was but the one thing he knew for certain, was that he needed to run. Just run.

As the boy hurriedly felt his way through a long dark corridor stretching into an endless void, in desperate hope of finding a way out of this hellish world. He felt sudden pain striking his abdomen. He looked down only to see the horrifying image before him. A huge hole, missing from his body. Suddenly the pain came back with full force, making the boy drop in agony as he forcefully covered his mouth to prevent his voice from getting out.

The boy can't give in yet, he must survive. He had things that must be done, things that can't be left unfulfilled. Determined to live, the boy clinging on to his deep open wound, slowly moved forward, only to be met with his own despair as he gradually weakened down, quivering due to the immense pain surging through his body.

"I can't die yet" he whispered as he dropped down onto his last breath reaching his hand out of desperation, as he slowly rested his eyes.

"So warm"

The boy thought as he felt something burning beside him. "Ah so this is what dying feels like" he thought. However he caught something glow through his eyelids. It felt hot yet smoothing like a calm warm breeze soaring through his skin. He reasoned that what it is must be some kind of process of death.

"Hello little one" a young feminine voice echoed into the boy's ears, startling the boy on the cold floor. "It appears you somehow have entered my realm and it seems like you are in… quite a bit of a pickle. In fact, I'm surprised you're still alive with that fatal wound of yours. So I ask, do you wish to survive?"

"ple…."

The boy tried to reply but could only mutter. Even so, he did not want to give up yet. Especially when given the possibility of a little chance at a miracle, so he muttered more and more, nodding as much as he physically could.

"If you do, then here"

The boy tried to open his eyes to see what she was mentioning but could only see a blurry silhouette of a girl with horns pointing upwards and one sharp, radiant wing stretching out from the right side of her back, holding out what seemed like paper.

"Sign this" she said in a quiet but elegant tone. "I shall help you out of your pitiful situation. In exchange you shall help me. As for details… well, we can discuss that later if you don't mind." She offers, with a soft angelic smile on her face.

His body suddenly felt a burning sensation. It seems like he is reaching his limits. And so with very little time left, he slowly signed the paper using his own blood, dripping from his bloody fingertips, before his world finally faded into darkness.
