Emerald didn't give Adrien a chance to stop her. She brushed past him and rushed toward William, intercepting him before he could reach Kieran's room.
"Will, wait," she called out.
The beta turned, looking surprised but relieved to see her. "Alpha Emerald. I really need to speak with Alpha Kieran…"
"You can't," Emerald said firmly. "Kieran was badly injured. He's recovering, but he's not strong enough yet to deal with pack emergencies. Tell me what's happening."
William hesitated, clearly uncomfortable with sharing pack business with someone who wasn't his Alpha. But the urgency of the situation won out.
"Things have been going wrong in our territory," he said in a tight voice, filled with worry. "One problem after another. At first we thought it was just bad luck, but now I'm certain it's some kind of warfare against us."
"What kind of problems?"
