Kyan froze. His hands were still pressed against Nico's wound, but his body went numb.

"Wake up…" he said, voice small. "Nico, wake up—"
He shook him. Hard. "Nico, I swear to God—!
Kyan's breath shattered. His hands started shaking violently. His lips trembled. He cupped Nico's face, slapping his cheeks softly, then harder. "No. No, no—this isn't happening."
The world tilted. Everything felt far away, like he wasn't really there anymore.
Then Kyan snapped.
He let out a broken scream—
He fell over Nico's body, sobbing. Loud, messy, shaking cries.
"My king—" he choked out. "Please—please—I can't—please…"
Then something wild took over.
He dragged Nico closer. "You're not leaving me like this. You don't get to—!"
He tilted Nico's face, parted his lips, and breathed into his mouth. Again. And again.
"Breathe, Nico—breathe!"
He slammed his fist into Nico's chest. "Come back—damn it, come back to me!"
