Chiyu first slew Admiral Krieg, then—without the slightest hesitation—killed "Demon Man" Gin, plunging the entire Krieg Pirates into instant catastrophe!
With their leader gone and caught completely off‑guard, the crew was thrown into utter chaos.
Besides, they were only pirates; how could they compare with the well‑trained and well‑equipped Navy?!
In no time the battle became entirely one‑sided.
The pirates scattered—many killed, many wounded, and plenty dropped straight to their knees to surrender!
In less than half a day, the Krieg Pirates were wiped out to the last man.
Thus the era of the "Overlord of the East Blue" came to a definitive end.
…
Sword and Fullbody could scarcely believe it.
The mighty Krieg Pirates—who had ruled the East Blue like an emperor—had been eradicated this easily?!
They exchanged a glance, unable to trust their own eyes.
Nami, however, found it perfectly natural.
To her, Chiyu-sama was simply all‑powerful.
Chiyu loaded all the Krieg Pirates' treasure, weapons, and provisions onto his ship and claimed them.
The remaining cleanup he left to his subordinates.
Iron Fist Fullbody said gravely, "Chiyu-sama, the destruction of the Krieg Pirates is entirely your achievement! I'll report everything truthfully to Marine Headquarters!"
Chiyu only nodded, indifferent.
Very soon the pirate empire that had entrenched itself in the East Blue was reduced to ruins.
The Krieg Pirates were history.
…
Back at sea, Iron Fist Fullbody took his men and set sail for Headquarters to make his report, bidding farewell to Chiyu's party.
By now he was a devout believer in Chiyu—obedient and deferential.
Even before leaving his ship, he called Marine HQ by Den Den Mushi to relay the news.
The officer who took the intel was Vice Admiral Doberman.
Hearing Fullbody's report, Doberman was stunned.
Just a few days had passed, and after the Arlong Pirates, even the East Blue Overlord Krieg Pirates had fallen to Uchiha Chiyu? That was lightning speed!
He immediately summoned Vice Admiral Onigumo, who was equally shocked.
"Right—Admiral Akainu ordered that any movement by Uchiha Chiyu be reported to him at once."
"Understood—I'll call him now."
A moment later the Den Den Mushi beside Akainu rang.
"Doberman, is that you?"
"Yes, Admiral Sakazuki. You told us to report anything about Uchiha Chiyu immediately, so—"
"Oh? What's that man done now?"
Even Akainu's stone‑cold face showed a trace of curiosity; his eyes burned like molten magma.
Doberman repeated Fullbody's report in detail.
Akainu frowned, then allowed a hard smile to tug at his lips.
"I see… So I didn't misjudge that man after all."
Doberman broke into a cold sweat.
"Frankly, even Marine HQ would pay a heavy price to crush a five‑thousand‑man pirate crew—yet Uchiha Chiyu wiped them out with ease and the Navy suffered barely any casualties. It's unbelievable!
"His abilities are mysterious—nothing like we've ever seen…"
Fullbody added that Chiyu possessed blood‑red demon eyes from hell, could see through everything, and—besides full mastery of Rokushiki—commanded many unique powers: an exploding blade of lightning, long‑range thunder attacks, a transformation that crushed the Krieg Pirates, and more.
"In Fullbody's words, Uchiha Chiyu is like a demon god from the underworld… the Crimson‑Eyed Demon!"
Akainu's expression shifted slightly.
"The Crimson‑Eyed Demon, eh? Interesting. If those powers are real, they're more than a simple Devil‑Fruit ability…"
A cold grin curled on his lips.
"Good. Keep a close eye on him and report anything immediately."
"Yes, Admiral!"
"By the way," Doberman asked, "since Uchiha Chiyu has also eliminated the Krieg Pirates, should we consider another promotion or commendation?"
Akainu replied, "Isn't the 16th Branch short one colonel?"
Doberman and Onigumo were taken aback.
"Y‑You mean…?"
Akainu hung up without another word.
"Uchiha Chiyu… good—very good. When you finally purge the whole East Blue, I'll meet you myself…"
…
Doberman and Onigumo set the Den Den Mushi down, exchanging shocked looks.
"Admiral Sakazuki means to promote Uchiha Chiyu straight to branch colonel?"
"That's… unprecedented…"
Onigumo wiped sweat. "He's been in the Navy less than a month—started as a Petty Officer, killed Captain Nezumi, destroyed the Arlong Pirates and leapt to Lieutenant Commander, now wipes out the Krieg Pirates and jumps straight to Colonel… In all naval history, no one's risen this fast."
Doberman nodded. "Given his achievements, the rank of colonel is more than fair. Since it's Admiral Sakazuki's order, so be it. Notify the entire Navy!"
"Understood!"
…
"Yes—yes! What…?!"
Sword's hand shook violently around the Den Den Mushi; sweat poured from his brow.
He hung up and looked at Chiyu, face a tangle of emotions.
Nami asked cross‑armed, "Well? What did Colonel Smoker say?!"
Sword swallowed hard.
"Chiyu-sama, Colonel Smoker conveys Headquarters' decision… You are now the Colonel of Marine 16th Branch!"
Nami's eyes lit up. "Wow! So you're equal in rank to Smoker now—though honestly Chiyu-sama should outrank him anyway…"
Sword shook his head. "He certainly deserves it, but this speed is unheard of! No one makes colonel in a single month…"
Nami gasped, "Then won't I also—"
Sword snapped, "Nami! Don't look down on the Navy! Pirates, revolutionaries—they're everywhere—but in this world the Navy is the true power."
Chiyu silently agreed.
Sword sighed. "Climbing out of millions of Marines is nigh impossible. Normally you start as a chore boy, then Third‑Class Seaman, Second‑Class, First‑Class… then Corporal, the lowest officer rank. Above Corporal is Sergeant—my old rank.
"From there come the warrant and company‑grade officers: Warrant Officer, Ensign, Lieutenant Junior Grade, Lieutenant. Then the field officers: Major, Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel—your rank now, the same as Colonel Smoker."
Nami gaped. "So many ranks… Anything higher?"
"Above that are flag officers: Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral, and the legendary Admirals—the Navy's strongest. And above them all, the Fleet Admiral."
Nami tapped her chin. "I bet Chiyu-sama will be Fleet Admiral soon!"
Sword was dumbfounded.
"Nami, that's going too far!"
But Nami smirked. "For Chiyu-sama it's only a matter of time, right?"
Chiyu paid it no mind; position merely served his ends, and this promotion had come naturally.
Nami didn't mind his silence.
"Hehe, my dear Colonel—where to next?"
Chiyu recalled other East Blue crews: Buggy's, Kuro's Black Cats, Alvida's, and corrupt Marines like Captain Morgan who needed purging. And what of Red‑Haired Shanks—was he still in the East Blue?
Studying Nami's new sea chart, he pointed. "The Gecko Islands."
Sword thought aloud. "No pirates there now… It used to be Black Cat territory, but that crew was destroyed, and Captain Kuro was killed by Captain Morgan…"
Chiyu, of course, knew Kuro had faked his death and was hiding in Syrup Village on the Gecko Islands—Usopp's hometown.
"No," Chiyu said calmly. "Captain Kuro… is still alive."
Sword's heart lurched—more at how Chiyu-sama seemed to know everything, as though from another world.
He saluted. "Aye, course set for the Gecko Islands!"
…
Syrup Village, Gecko Islands.
Bored, Usopp sat on the shore scanning the sea with a telescope.
Suddenly a naval warship appeared on the horizon, growing larger as it bore down on the village.
Usopp's jaw dropped.
"A… a Marine ship?!"
Onion, Carrot, and Pepper gaped too.
"Captain Usopp, why are so many Marines coming here?!"
Usopp flashed a crafty grin, wiped his nose, and bragged to the younger kids.
"Obviously they've come to catch me—the dread pirate Captain Usopp who strikes fear into every Marine!"
"Hahahaha!"
The three kids exchanged helpless looks. They followed Usopp's "pirate crew," but knew he was lying.
"Captain Usopp, we should warn everyone!"
"Right." Usopp nodded, then bolted off. He was fast; the boys couldn't keep up.
Running through the village, he took a deep breath and shouted in feigned panic:
"Bad news! Pirates are coming! The village is doomed! Everybody run!"
Many villagers, still unaccustomed to Usopp's lies, panicked and began packing to flee.
Kaya, the orphaned heiress in the manor, heard the clamor. Pale‑faced, she asked, "Klahadore-san… are pirates really coming?!"
The butler "Klahadore" adjusted his glasses.
"Please don't worry, Kaya-sama—it must be that scoundrel Usopp's prank."
"But still—"
"If it eases your mind, I'll take a look myself. Merry, stay and protect the lady."
"Understood," replied the long‑nosed servant Merry.
Klahadore was, of course, Captain Kuro of the Black Cat Pirates in disguise. Since faking his death, he had posed as the butler to seize Kaya's fortune and was now one step from success—if only that liar Usopp would stop visiting and spinning tales.
A perfect chance to eliminate him—except…
Reaching the village gate, Kuro saw Marines already landing and his heart jolted.
"The Navy?! In this little village? Have they tracked me down? Impossible—only Jango and I know the truth…"
Uneasy, Kuro abandoned his plan and hid to observe.
Meanwhile Usopp strode up to greet Chiyu's party.
"Honored Marines, you're here for the great pirate Captain Usopp, aren't you?"
Puffing out his chest before the kids, he kept boasting.
Chiyu fixed him with a cold gaze.
"I'm here to kill pirates. Are you one?"
He didn't project any deliberate aura, yet his sheer menacing presence swept over them like a storm. Usopp and the children felt death itself descend—they collapsed, one boy even wetting himself.
Usopp trembled. "I‑I… I'm not a pirate…"
Chiyu said flatly, "Didn't you just claim to be the great pirate Captain Usopp?"
Sweating through his clothes, Usopp stammered, "I was just… bragging… lying… hahahaha…"
Villagers gathered, realized the newcomers were Marines, and angrily scolded Usopp for his lie.
"Damn Usopp! Always tricking us! We won't forgive you this time!"
"A pirate's brat—figures!"
Terrified by Chiyu, Usopp still bristled at being called a pirate's son.
"That's right! I am a pirate's son—so what?! I'm proud of my father!"
Then, glancing at Chiyu, he waved frantically. "But I'm not a pirate myself! My father's been at sea for years—I haven't seen him in forever…"
Chiyu took a long breath. He usually showed mercy to wayward kids, yet some needed correction.
"I know who your father is. A crewman on Emperor Red‑Haired Shanks' ship… Yasopp."
Usopp and everyone else gasped.
"R‑Red‑Haired Shanks?! One of the Yonko who rule the Grand Line!"
"Usopp's dad is that pirate?!"
Chiyu continued, "Nothing to be proud of. To me, your father is just a man who abandoned his wife and child."
Usopp, though afraid, shouted, "No! He isn't like that!"
"Really?" Chiyu said calmly. "To chase life as a pirate, he left his wife who had just given birth, left his young child, and never returned.
"When your mother was gravely ill—where was he?
"When she died, leaving you alone—where was he?
"When you became a lying rascal—where was he?
"If that isn't abandonment, what is?"
Usopp fell silent, Chiyu's words stabbing like needles—because every word was true.
"H‑How do you know all this?!"
Nami cut in, "Your name's Usopp, right? You'd better listen—Chiyu-sama knows everything and can do anything!"
Usopp clenched his fists, shaking.
"No—my dad is a great pirate who seeks freedom, not a deserter—"
Nami snorted, "If freedom is his reason, that makes abandoning his family even worse! What kind of excuse is that?!"
She, who lost her mother and freedom to the pirate Arlong, had zero sympathy for pirates.
Far off, Kaya clasped her hands, eyes brimming.
"Usopp…"
Usopp cried, "Are pirates all evil?!"
"Not necessarily," Chiyu replied. "But why should I sift through criminals to find the least wicked? Why not stand with the good—or at least the ordinary? Kill every pirate and the world becomes a cleaner place."
While speaking, he had already located the hidden Kuro.
Soru!
Chiyu vanished and reappeared amid the crowd, kicking Kuro viciously into the open.
Kaya gasped, "K‑Klahadore!"
Planting a foot on Kuro's chest, Chiyu said coldly, "He's not Klahadore. He is Captain Kuro of the Black Cat Pirates."
Everyone—Usopp, Kaya, the villagers, Sword, Nami, the Marines—was struck speechless.
Kaya clapped a hand over her mouth. "H‑How…?"
Usopp was dumbfounded.
"Kaya's polite butler is a notorious pirate? The child‑scaring killer leader of the Black Cat Pirates?!"
"Then… are pirates really all… damned?!"
