Synopsis
"So he was staring and probably attracted to an omega, so what? You should be the last person calling him out." Callum quirkeda brow at me and I cringed, knowing he was talking about the reputation I had gained as a flirt and seducer. "Firstly I don't sleep with people below my station, talk less of an omega. Any female who comes into my bed comes willingly and not because I'm a superior she can't say no to." I pointed out. "That doesn't make you any less of a womanizer." Callum retorted. "That's not the point Callum." I rolled my eyes are him. "Okay, Alpha Kael has a thing for servants, how is that any of our business?" He asked. "After the meeting he suggested taking the girl with him...back to his pack." I revealed. "And what did you say?" He quirked a brow at me. Betrayed. Pregnant. Destined for more than she ever imagined. Lyra, a lowly omega, never expected her quiet life to be entangled with the powerful Alpha Erik Varian—the notorious playboy who cast her aside without a second glance. But when a single night leaves her carrying his child, her world shatters. Determined to protect herself and the life growing within her, Lyra walks away, unaware that fate has marked her for greatness. Erik, bound by duty and a dangerous arranged union with the regal Clara, never thought his greatest regret would be the omega he overlooked. Chapter 1 - Part of the Deal

Lyra's pov

The alpha's deep laughter rang out through the air as he conversed with the visiting Alpha. I kept my head down and leaned deeper into the wall as the other omega who had accompanied the visiting Alpha did.

"More wine." Alpha Erik called out and I sprung into action, leaning off the wall and rushing to get them another canter of wine.

"How's it going in there?" Mava, the head omega asked me as I walked into the kitchen.

"Everything is going smoothly, Alpha Erik wants more wine." I informed her. Everyone was on edge since Alpha Kael, the alpha of a rival pack arrived with a proposition of an alliance.

"You know your duty, don't make any stupid mistakes and make a mess of things. Alpha Erik will personally kill you if anything goes wrong because of you." Mava threatened as she handed over the wine to me. I simply nodded before I turned on my heels and returned to the dining room.

"Are your omega's usually this slow?" Alpha Kael asked Alpha Erik as I carefully poured their drinks with shaky hands.

"My omega's are efficient to a fault." Alpha Erik defended and I stifled a smile.

"Doesn't seem like it." Alpha Kael shrugged. I ignored him and set down the bottle before I returned to my place by the wall, awaiting further instructions.

Alpha Erik and Alpha Kael spoke at length but it was worth it because finally they struck a deal and that meant our pack wouldn't receive anymore threats.

"It was good meeting you Erik, I think I should return soon." Alpha Kael commented as he rose from his chair.

"You are always welcome Kael." Alpha Erik retorted.

I could feel Alpha Kael's eyes on me but I didn't dare look up from the floor.

"You do have pretty omega's." Alpha Kael announced after a second and my head involuntarily snapped up.

"I think I should take this one back to my pack with me. Consider it a way to seal our alliance." Alpha Kael suggested as his gaze lazily racked down my body and I internally cringed as the ideas running through his mind were blatantly on display on his face.

"My omegas weren't part of the deal and we are done here anyways." Alpha Erik said calmly, much to my relief.

"You want this one for yourself? Or you are already having her?" Alpha Kael asked with a knowing sick smile.

Alpha Erik turned to me and assessed me for a moment, his face blank. My cheeks heated at the attention and I looked back at the floor.

"She isn't my type." Alpha Kael announced and something within me dropped. That...whatever that was, was stupid. What had I been expecting?

For Alpha Erik to announce he much preferred to have me?

For him to see me for something other than what I was?

I was a lowly omega, we didn't run in the same circles. Alpha Erik led while people like me...omegas like me, were there to follow and serve. That knowledge didn't make his rejection and disregard sting any less though.

"Then I don't see what the problem is. She isn't your type but she is clearly mine and I want her. I could leave my omega here in your pack as her replacement if that is what you wish." Alpha Kael pressed on, drawing me out of my thoughts. At alpha Erik's silence I chanced a glance at him and fear spiked through me as he actually seemed to be considering Alpha Kael's offer.

I glanced at the omega Alpha Kael has brought with him, a young woman much like me who stared ahead with blank eyes, seeming oblivious to what was going on around her. How could she be so stoic and expressionless when they were so casually talking about us and their next words could determine and significantly alter our fates. I shuddered to think what my fate would be if I went to Alpha Kael's pack with him, I would no doubt become his whore...readily available to please him whenever he wanted.

"I think you know where to go if you want a tumble in bed with a wolf who is not your mate." Alpha Erik finally spoke up as he guided Alpha Kael out of the room. I let out a sigh of relief and tried to calm my racing heart. Alpha Erik didn't exactly care for omega's nor did he acknowledge our existence within the pack especially since we were expected to be invisible. We were meant to serve in the shadows and never command attention to ourselves.

I watched as the omega that accompanied Alpha Kael slowly walked towards the servants exit and I couldn't help but imagine what she had been through to make her so cold and detached. Had Alpha Kael done something to her?

"Just because you were serving the alpha doesn't mean you get to slack on your other chores." Mava announced and I wondered just how deep in thought I was to have missed when she stepped into the room.

"Are you going to keep on staring or are you going to get back to work?" She snapped and I sprang into action, clearing the dining room.

"Next time an Alpha visits send in the male omegas." Alpha Erik announced as he came back into the room. I felt his eyes on me for a second, merely an observant stare at best.

"Of course Alpha." Mava responded before Alpha Erik walked out of the room.

"What happened?" Mava asked me seconds after Alpha Erik had left.

"Alpha Kael suggested he take me back to his pack." I revealed and I knew she understood exactly what I meant.

"You were trying to seduce him weren't you?" Mava's nostrils flared as she gripped my arms in a vice grip.

"No I wasn't. I didn't even speak to him." I defended quickly.

"You are going to be working from the kitchen from now on." Mava announced as she release me and walked away.
