In an apocalyptic-like city called The Satellite, two young boys dug through the city's dumpster.
"Hey Haruki, is your father still acting all crazy?"
The blond child, who could be no older than 10 years old, froze and looked at his blue-haired friend.
"Don't call him crazy, Daichi. Next time you call him that, I'll punch you."
His friend laughed nervously as he waved his hands in defense.
"Calm down, Haruki, you know I didn't mean it like that. It's just that he keeps saying that he came from another world. The thing he's saying is crazy, not him…."
The blond boy sighed, knowing his friend was desperately trying to save himself, and continued breaking apart the dueling disk he had found. It was in good condition, so he was hopeful about the parts he found inside.
'It would be great if I could take the whole thing home but I don't know how far I'd make it before being stopped. I'm already being chased for my Sophia, Goddess Of Rebirth monster card.'
As he was lost in thought, a card fell out of the duel disk. When he picked it up, he saw it was an equipped spell card called D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation. Seeing the name of the card and thinking about what his friend just said made him remember his situation.
According to his mother, his father had suddenly begun acting like a different person. He claimed that he came from another dimension. One where he had something called a system that allowed him to summon the Yu-Gi-Oh monsters in real life. Not holograms but actual living Yu-Gi-Oh creatures.
While Haruki knew his father wasn't completely normal, he didn't care. He still had his mother, at least that was the case until 3 years ago when she died from an illness. Once she was gone, his father completely lost it. He began drowning himself in alcohol completely shutting off from the rest of the world unless it was to buy more alcohol.
It's as if Haruki suddenly became invisible. As if his father had suddenly no longer saw him as his son.
'With how crazy he is, I wouldn't be surprised.'
Before his mother passed away, he had promised to take care of his father, so he still tried.
After removing the usable energy cell, field calibration sensors, and card readers, he called it a day.
As Haruki walked through the rundown streets, he suddenly heard laughter. Looking back, he found the two teenagers who had tried to take away his card. Seeing they were following him, he ran for it.
Haruki already knew that if they caught him like last time, he would be beat up again, and they would steal everything that he had found today.
As he ran, he made sure to make random turns to try to get out of sight long enough to hide. Since the teenagers were older, they had more speed and stamina than he did, so it was hard to make a good enough opening.
Thankfully, as Haruki made a turn, he slipped and rolled below a broken-down car.
Afraid that they had seen him, Haruki's whole body became tense, and he closed his eyes. As the teens ran past, he feared they would hear his breathing.
"Shit, where did he go!!!"
He waited a few seconds after they had passed and ran in the opposite direction as fast as possible.
He arrived home an hour later since he was cautious. Thankfully, the teens still didn't know where he lived.
When he got home, his father, like always, was drinking. Seeing that Haruki had arrived carrying a heavy bag, the man took it from him and began digging through its contents.
A wave of anger ran through Haruki. He could feel the stinging sensation on the left side of his face. He had already seen that he had scraped on his arm. Yet this man didn't even ask him what had happened to him.
Those other times when he had arrived with bruises, the man hadn't batted an eye.
Haruki stomped his feet and walked to the bathroom. After cleaning his injuries, he went to his room and lay in bed. He poked his fingers inside his sock and pulled out the monster card Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth.
It was the first card that his mother had given him. The other cards had been taken, but when the teens tried taking away this card, he managed to gather enough strength to fight back. Now, it was his only card—at least that was true until today.
From the right side of his pant pocket, he pulled out the D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation equip spell card he had found earlier.

"My dad really is crazy…. I wish I could be taken to another world. A world where I can be free to go wherever I want. If the cards really could come to life like my crazy dad said, then it would be just me and my cards…. What the hell am I thinking. Such a paradise would never exist; I'm sounding as crazy as he is!"
15 minutes later, unseen by the sleeping Haruki, the monster card on his chest began glowing. The glowing card fragmented into thousands of small golden shards of light. Those shards started to fuse with each other, and in seconds, a large white and purple dragon was formed. Her long, fiery red hair floated around her head as she emitted a dark purple light with her right hand and a golden energy with her left hand.
She looked at the child, and a reptilian smile formed.
'I have heard your wish, little one. I will grant your wish to repay your mother's and your care towards me. May you have the life you are looking for.'
She touched the D.D.R - Different Dimension Reincarnation with the hand that had gathered the dark energy and Haruki with the one that had the golden energy.
The card fragmented into purple light that spread above Haruki. When the fragments disappeared, the space above Haruki warped. Haruki's body suddenly began disintegrating into golden fragments of light, which entered the warping space.
Once all the fragments had disappeared, Sophia looked out the window and opened it before turning back into fragments that floated out of the room.

"An earthquake?!"
Haruki was suddenly awoken by loud bangs and big tremors.
He tried getting up, but his body wouldn't respond. He couldn't even see what was in front of him. Everything was just shadowy figures and bright light. Talking was also not an option since everything he tried saying came out as nothing but mumbling.
'Am I in a baby's body?!'
Without the ability to move, Haruki had no option but to stay put. After what felt like an eternity, the loud bangs disappeared. He was relieved, but suddenly, he noticed that the tremors became more concentrated and louder. It was as if the tremor was going towards him.
As he was freaking out, a loud booming voice caused his blood to freeze.
"Gi-Ga-Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba!!!!!! That last punch that Dorry threw was amazing. I have to make sure to avoid it ne—- Huh! What do we have here?! Is this a human baby?!"
