Chapter 104: Thomas
Wednesday, June 2, 2010
Niels was still thinking about the countryside as he boarded the morning train from Utrecht to Amsterdam. He kept remembering the boys playing football, the old windmill and the time he had spent sitting by the field. The postcard from the Crawley U12s was still inside his notebook.
He read the message again in his head: "They're still talking about your last session."
It made him think about the kind of coach he wanted to be. His backpack was at his feet, packed with his things and the notebook he had filled during the trip.
He knew there was plenty waiting for him when he got back to Crawley.
The train moved through the countryside, passing green fields and canals as the morning went on. Niels watched the view through the window and thought about the club.
He had been away for a while, but Crawley never felt far from his thoughts. He missed the players, the training ground and the atmosphere around Broadfield.
