Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Can't Be Fooled by the Bad Aunt Again

After listening to Chen Zhicai prattle on the phone, Su Xingwan finally understood what was going on.

The original character had no power, no connections, and no money. She relied on the funds from her grandmother and elder sister to forcefully elevate herself into becoming a fake socialite.

Determined to break into the upper-class circles and marry into a wealthy family, she had been continually pestering rich young heirs for the past year or two, which had already ruined her reputation in those circles.

Her eye for targets was exceptionally high, dismissing small entertainment studios and media companies, and directly setting her eyes on Yuehua Entertainment, which was under the Zhao Family in Beijing.

Who would have thought? She picked them, and the big company picked her back.

Although the original character was quite pretty, the entertainment circle wasn't short of pretty faces.

Plus, with her arrogant and conceited personality, Yuehua Entertainment didn't think she had any potential to become popular.

However, the original character was as thick-skinned as a city wall, and when they refused to sign her, she went to see the boss of Yuehua Entertainment herself.

The boss, being incessantly annoyed, finally gave her a chance upon seeing she was somewhat good-looking: as long as she could win over the young Young Master Ye and secure a spot on his variety show, they would agree to sign her with Yuehua Entertainment.

Brimming with confidence, the original thought she could surely charm Young Master Ye with her allure. But, no sooner had she entered than she was whisked out, along with her gifts, by his assistant within minutes...

After Chen Zhicai finished yelling, he realized there was silence on the other end.

"Hey? Where are you?"

Su Xingwan: "I'm here."

Chen Zhicai: Why does Su Xingwan seem a bit off today?

In the past, she would've been trading barbs with him by now.

"Anyway, since you failed, don't even think about signing a contract with our company!"

Su Xingwan took a deep breath. "Fine, I don't want to sign with your company anyway. Bye!"

After speaking, she didn't give him a chance to respond and immediately hung up the phone.

She thought to herself, the original character finally did something right. Luckily she didn't sign with Yuehua Entertainment; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to break off the contract.

"Refreshing!"

Su Xingwan happily flopped onto the bed.

But soon, worry crept in; considering all the trouble the original had caused, wouldn't the three little ones' uncle come over and eat her alive?

She shivered again, making up her mind that while the uncle of the three little ones hadn't arrived yet, she should hurry and run away with her suitcase, right?

Silently, Su Xingwan got up, quickly and hastily packing her luggage.

Just as she dragged it to the door and was about to open it, she glanced back at the two little ones already asleep on the sofa and hesitated...

**

"...Mommy... Mommy."

Little Su Hua started crying in her sleep, and Su Xingwan's heart ached. She hurried over to sit beside her, stroked her forehead, and gently patted her.

Feeling the warmth, Little Su Hua snuggled into her arms, placing her little hands on her, her head resting on her chest.

Meanwhile, Little Su Luo smacked his lips and began to speak in his sleep too.

"Hit, hit you Bad Aunt..."

Su Xingwan: "..."

Before long, both little ones had nestled into her embrace. She felt uneasy but didn't dare to move, staying like this until they woke up.

The two little ones opened their sleepy eyes and, seeing themselves nestled in the arms of the Bad Aunt, instantly became fully awake.

With their big and small eyes staring at each other, the scene seemed frozen.

The tension was broken by Little Su Hua's stomach rumbling.

Little Su Hua glanced at her aunt nervously, quickly saying, "...I'm not hungry."

Just then, Little Su Luo's stomach also rumbled.

Shortly after, Su Xingwan's stomach joined in.

The three pairs of eyes glared at each other.

A hint of embarrassment appeared on Su Xingwan's face.

Finding it hard to accept the fact that she had become the malicious aunt, she had been lazing about for days, neglecting these two little ones. Coupled with never having cared for children before, she was careless, not even noticing when the kids were hungry.

She said, "You two wait here, I'll cook something for you to eat!"

When Su Xingwan went to the kitchen,

only then did the two little ones exchange glances.

"Brother, Bad Aunt is acting really strange today?"

Little Su Luo frowned, "Don't trust her. Who knows what scheme she's plotting to win our trust."

Last time, to send their elder brother away, she had tricked them like this for a period.

Little Su Hua's face turned pitiful, on the verge of tears after hearing that.

"...I don't want brother to be sent away."

Little Su Luo consoled her, "Brother will protect you, I won't fall for Bad Aunt's tricks again."

A lingering aroma of noodles wafted in from the kitchen a short moment later.

The two little ones couldn't help but swallow.

Carrying two bowls of noodles from the kitchen, Su Xingwan called out to the two little ones.

"Little babies, time to come out for noodles!"

Looking at them, Little Su Hua timidly said, "Brother, I want to go eat."

Little Su Luo blocked his sister, "No, be careful not to fall into Bad Aunt's trap again."

Little Su Hua could only stand there motionless, yet her eyes fixated longingly on the steaming noodles on the dining table, licking her lips.

They had been eating biscuits for days; now she really wanted a bite of the hot noodles Bad Aunt had made.

If she could eat it, her tummy would surely feel warm and comfortable.

Su Xingwan's eyes showed puzzlement. The siblings were so hungry, why hadn't they come over yet?

She raised her head and called gently this time, "Little ones, come have some noodles!"

Little Su Hua glanced at her brother, "Auntie called us to eat noodles again."

Little Su Luo glared at her, "Can't you control your mouth?"

Upon hearing this, Little Su Hua looked a bit aggrieved.

Sitting at the dining table, Su Xingwan muttered, "Could these two kids still be wary of me?"

Then, she lifted one of the bowls of noodles and addressed the two little ones on purpose, "Are you really not eating?"

The two little ones stayed silent.

Feigning resignation, Su Xingwan said, "If you don't eat, I'll finish it all!"

With that, she slurped a noodle strand satisfyingly.

Then she saw the drool nearly dripping from the little ones' mouths.

She thought to herself, no wonder they're the genius babies in a CEO romance novel, even now they can hold back.

Then, ramping up her act, she finished the entire bowl of noodles in front of her, even drinking the broth. In the cold of winter, her stomach felt instantly warm.

She placed the empty bowl on the table, then picked up the little ones' baby bowls.

Seeing Bad Aunt about to eat their noodles too, the little ones instantly panicked.

Su Xingwan noted their slip and smiled.

She put down the noodles and went over, taking Little Su Hua and Little Su Luo's hands, and immediately felt how cold their little hands were.

Then she gently placed her still-warm hands, from holding the bowl, against Little Su Hua's cheek.

[So cold...]

[Oh no, could these two little ones have gotten chilled?]

[No way! I need to find them some clothes to wear. Can't let them catch a cold.]

Upon hearing Bad Aunt's inner thoughts again, Little Su Hua's big confused eyes looked up.
