Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Instant Hardcore Fan

"Is there anything special about this plant?" Wangzai Little Buns looked at the plant that Iron Black Pot was picking and reached out to snap off a section himself.

While picking, Iron Black Pot answered, "It covers up the smell of blood."

"The smell of plant sap is generally quite strong."

"Especially this plant. I've noticed a lot of little flying insects often buzzing around it."

"This indicates not only is its scent strong, but it's also quite appealing to animals."

"Since this game is all about realism, this particular detail is likely no exception."

"These details highlight the realism in the game's setting."

"So, if there's a bloody smell, other animals would probably not be fooled after catching a whiff."

Wangzai Little Buns gave a thumbs-up and praised, "Scapegoat, I didn't expect you to be so attentive to details."

Iron Black Pot sighed slowly, "Xiao Mantou, please don't call me attentive. Thank you."

Wangzai Little Buns clearly didn't understand what Iron Black Pot was trying to express. She nodded in sudden realization, "Oh, you don't like being complimented. Fine, I won't praise you then."

Iron Black Pot wanted to roll his eyes, but unfortunately, being a skeleton, he could only glance indirectly at Wangzai Little Buns with a wistful gaze.

After rearranging the traps, Iron Black Pot walked to the front of the corpse.

Wangzai Little Buns leaned in and asked, "Scapegoat, are you interested in this corpse? Hungry?"

"But we're skeletons. No matter how much freedom the game allows or how comprehensive the cooking system is, we still can't eat, right?"

Iron Black Pot glanced at Wangzai Little Buns and remarked in mild exasperation, "Why is food the only thing on your mind?"

"As a competent medical student, shouldn't your first instinct upon seeing a corpse be to consider dissecting it?"

Wangzai Little Buns widened her eyes and retorted, "That's clearly a stereotype! Why should a medical student's first response to a corpse be to dissect it?"

Iron Black Pot gently touched the corpse, "The game is incredibly realistic, which got me thinking about something."

Xiao Mantou curiously looked at Iron Black Pot, "Scapegoat, you're not thinking about eating? Then what are you thinking?"

Iron Black Pot, with his skeletal hand, touched various parts of the corpse, "Do you think we could try crafting weapons in this game, like a bow and arrow?"

"Extract the sinew from the animals, dry it in the sun, soak it in water, and then tear it into fibers like ramie to twist into bowstrings, or use it to reinforce the bow's framework..."

"So I'm wondering if every organ is authentically presented within the creatures' bodies, and if the sinew is suitable for bowstrings."

By this time, the other players had gathered around, slightly stunned by Iron Black Pot's words.

Caged Parrot hesitated, "Scapegoat, aren't you overthinking? If the game details every organ part inside each creature, the server load would be massive!"

"I even doubt if you can cut open the corpse at all, there might be a game protection mechanism stopping you."

Iron Black Pot shook his head, "How will we know if we don't try?"

"If it's as you say, then there would be much less fun in the game."

"But if it's as I hope, I'll be so blown away by the game that I become its ultimate fan on the spot."

Caged Parrot spread out his hands, "What is 'ultimate fan'?"

Iron Black Pot shrugged and stood up, moving aside, "An advanced level of a die-hard fan."

"I'll go find a suitable stone piece to dissect it."

Soon, Iron Black Pot found a stone and started to sharpen it on other rocks.

At this moment, he was relieved to be a skeleton rather than having a flesh and blood body.

Otherwise, if the game simulated death from injury as realistically, the way he was sharpening the stone would definitely have cut his hands.

Wangzai Little Buns reached out to hold Iron Black Pot, "Dissections should be left to the professionals. I'm curious too."

Iron Black Pot handed the sharpened stone to Wangzai Little Buns and nodded, "Alright, it's in your hands then."

It must be said that Wangzai Little Buns was truly skilled; her cutting technique was amazingly adept and delicate.

Soon the skin of the corpse was opened, revealing the internal organs.

Seeing this scene, Iron Black Pot excitedly clapped his hands, "Wow, this game is awesome. From now on, I'm an ultimate fan of this game, I'll praise it to the skies!"

Before long, Wangzai Little Buns had extracted the sinew from the animal corpse and handed it to Iron Black Pot.

Iron Black Pot took the sinew and excitedly hugged Wangzai Little Buns, "Haha, awesome, awesome, looks like we really can craft our own weapons in this game."

After being pushed away by Wangzai Little Buns, he sheepishly smiled at her and then turned his attention to the others present, "Brothers, this game truly emphasizes realism, should we maybe go mining or make gunpowder next?"

Wangzai Little Buns pointed to the surrounding trees, "Mining and smelting steel? Maybe the game supports such a system, but firstly, you need to find a mountain, right?"

"Do you even know how to prospect?"

Iron Black Pot cleared his throat, "Well... no rush, let's start with the bow and arrow first."

"Let's go, brothers, we'll continue hunting and check if there's any suitable material nearby to make the bow's frame."

The other players were now excited as well.

"Brother Scapegoat, you've struck it rich, don't forget us when you craft a bow and arrow."

"Yeah, Brother Scapegoat, don't forget me too. I'd love a bow and arrow. Just imagining it is cool."

"Brother Scapegoat, get me a bow and arrow, and I'll stick with you."

Iron Black Pot grinned, "Don't be freeloaders, learn to practice, okay? There's fun in practice."

"Everyone can go offline and research the relevant information, then try crafting themselves. Creating your own weapon isn't it more rewarding? Isn't that the fun part?"

"Of course, if anyone still finds something hard to understand after researching, feel free to ask me, I'll help solve your questions."

Listening to Iron Black Pot's words, the players exchanged glances.

If it weren't for the incomplete hunting mission, many would have wanted to go offline immediately to research materials.

Clearly, Iron Black Pot's words resonated with them.

Indeed, crafting a weapon with one's own hands is more fulfilling, isn't it?

And honestly, making a bow and arrow isn't exceedingly difficult, they could manage it.

Each of them made a mental note to complete the task then research how to craft a bow and arrow, creating their own first weapon.
