The next morning, Shurry woke up with a stretch. Looked over to Idunn, and gave her a hug. She had stayed with him the whole night, telling him stories until he fell asleep. He was thankful, and felt a little more like this place was home. And it was all because of Idunn, and Baldr.
Baldr wasn't there for the night because he had some work to do through the night. Even so, he was the reason why Shurry was in a safe place now. He would never forget that, he was light, leading to a better life.
Shurry got up, and continued stretching. I can't wait to see what words mommy teaches me today! And I wonder how I should play with Uncle today… He thought, relaxing after finishing his morning stretches. "No need to worry about it, I guess? I'll land a blow sometime. Still, what's that whole stepping towards divinity? What does that even mean?"
Idunn smiled, having woken up a little before Shurry did, though she just wanted to watch him bask in the serenity of sleep. It seems he had a good dream this time. That's very good. Even if the world is filled with fear, and danger, a child as young as him shouldn't have to bear it. She giggled a little. "Some children think of it like becoming a god themselves."
Shurry turned around and smiled. "Good morning, mommy!" He said, jumping into her arms again. The flicking of his ears, and swish of his tail were clear signs of how happy he was.
"You're all full of energy aren't you?"
"Yep! I get to learn more words today! And I can play with Uncle again!"
"Alright, but before that, let's have a quick morning snack." Idunn let Shurry down, and she stood up. "How about an apple? You set up the desk, while I cut and peel the apple."
And so, that's exactly what they did. Each nibbling on the cut pieces while Shurry learned. About an hour passed by when Baldr came in.
"Oh, I see you're already awake. So, Son, how do you like it here?"
"Hmm? I love it. I get to do so many things here! Play with Uncle, learn words, and even have a daddy!" He cheerfully replied, munching down on an apple bite.
"That's good, I'm glad." He said walking over to the desk. "Let's see, how much have you learned so far?" His eyes bulged once he noticed just how much it looked like Shurry had memorized. "Did you memorize all of this, already?"
"Yes papa, I can read and write all of those!" Shurry smiled, his tail giving away the fact he was expecting praise to follow.
Baldr looked at his wife, she smiled and nodded. "I see. You're really smart, you'll go far if you keep this pace up." He said, looking through all of the words, it was as if he was determining something, else. "You're almost fluent in reading and writing Koin. And you've started learning our language from Tekai…" He then swapped to speaking in the language of the gods… "Son, you know that I, and my wife, love you."
Shurry realized this was a test to gauge his understanding. So he mulled over the words he heard… Replying with mostly the same language, a few words were still in Koin, but for the most part it was just the language of the gods. "Yes, papa! I… Uhm… Uh… Oh no, what's the word…" His ears folded down.
Idunn giggled, putting a hand to her lips. "No need to worry. We haven't got to that word yet."
His ears perked up. "Oh?! Then, I love mommy and papa too!" He answered by mixing in multiple languages, just to fill in the blanks he didn't know.
"Idunn, our son is rather impressive. I'd like to see him continue improving." He said, placing the papers down. "But-"
"You don't have to say it darling. I already know." Idunn said, curling her lips into a smile.
"Good, Son, I was visited this morning by two girls… I know it wasn't easy, nor is it fair. Even so, I'm proud of you." He said, picking Shurry up to hold him in a full embrace.

With Baldr's approval, the father he never had, Shurry was further energized. Every day that passed by, he learned more, and faster. It was as if his Prismatic mind skill was actively improving. In reality, this wasn't the case… It was Shurry himself, who had grown more accustomed to its usage, and thus could bring out far more of its power. It seemed to be endlessly vast… Though, seemed was definitely the operative word.
The pace of his training with Leon, picked up quite a bit. And there were always two girls constantly training nearby, a suggestion made by Baldr, and one the pair definitely benefited from.
As a result, Shurry's training became mentally taxing as well as physical. Though this didn't bother him nearly as much as the first time he saw the pair. He did still have to put on the pressure for Leon.
And just like grains of sand, slipping through one's fingers, days passed by. It was now time for Shurry's second real status update. A total of two weeks of training, what would the results be?
And so, this time, in Baldr's office, his status glowed and the numbers began shifting around according to the excelia.
Idunn watched it happen in real time as well, her expression growing more shocked by the second. "Is that really his status?" She asked, having a hard time believing it.
Baldr wore a slightly less surprised expression. But, he was really surprised by what he saw there. "He already did it? I wonder, can I see what it was that caused it?" He muttered, peeking around to see what it was that caused the utterly incomprehensible situation, then he found it… "Idunn, you were right to push him. I could level him up right now if I wanted."
"Hmm? Wait, don't do it. I want to learn all the words! If I don't know them then I won't know how it feels!" Shurry almost cried his heart out.
"Don't worry, I'm not doing that yet. It's best for you to grow accustomed to life here before gaining any level ups. Besides…" He and Idunn looked at each other. "We like it when you're cute and adorable. So you can feel free to stay that way as long as you like."
