Chapter 192 - C192 : Vito Reappears

Down in the south east region of Orario, a little to the north and east of the south-east main street, and south of the east main, a lone, and confused adventurer, one who shouldn't be there, was fighting off the encroaching horde of Evilus cultists, and monsters.

What is going on here?! Is this Orario? But all I did was take a nap after the war game! How did all of this destruction happen?

"Die adventurer!"

"We can't do it! He's too strong!"

"Swarm him, we'll exhaust him soon."

"What is with these crazy people?! Fire Bolt!"

The adventurer leaped up, and bounced around the surroundings, avoiding the worst case, being surrounded, what he didn't know is what he would see, or what was about to happen.

In his eyes, he witnessed a sliver of the ongoing battle in the east. What? Ryuu never told me a story about that happening! Just seeing it from this far away… He shivered, but his problems weren't yet resolved.

The firebolt he shot, struck a blast-rock straight on, the explosion triggered several more concussive explosions, like rapid fire. WHAT?! He was caught up in the explosions, sent flying higher into the air than ever before. What the?! My spell's never been that powerful before! He started to lose consciousness…

However, thanks to that rather impressive explosion, it led his would-be rescuers straight to him.

"Neze! Quickly catch the boy before he falls."

"I'll give you a boost!"

A magical spell was chanted, and by the time Neze was at the end of the mage's range, the buff had been cast. Increasing her speed just enough to catch the falling white haired boy, sliding across a roof top, to halt both of their momentum.

"Huh? You smell familiar for some reason…?" Neze said, focusing on sniffing the admitted embarrassed young man.

"Uhm, thanks for catching me. Who are you?"

"Neze, from Astraea familia! What's your name and affiliation?"

"I… Uh…" This is one of Ryuu's familia members! Wait, how! WHERE AM I! Panic set in, and he passed out.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

Alise and the others arrived, and looked at the scene.

"Don't tell me, did you make him faint?"

"No, I just asked him who he was, and then he fainted like this. It's weird, he smells like, he smells a lot like someone we knew, but I can't seem to place it."

"Neze, Iska, Lyra, the three of you bring him back to Babel to get treated. And tell Lady Astraea what you just told me."

"Why aren't you coming too?"

"I've got a feeling like a big fight is about to happen here. And I want to look around for any other survivors."

"Come on Alise, the boy's an adventurer who fought off Evilus on his own for a while. He'll be fine with field level treatment." Kaguya uttered a dissenting opinion.

"You may be right about that, but… Lion, can you do it?"

"I can try."

Ryuu, still the type to refuse anyone's physical contact, minus a small handful of individuals, did her best, and healed the adventurer's wounds. While the young man was waking up, the human, Noin, watched over him, curious about him.

"I swear, he looks familiar, but not quite the same. Is he younger, but how would that be possible?"

The young man stirred awake, the sounds of conflict down below were enough to wake almost anyone, from anything. He sat up, and a few of the survivors in the area cheered, glad their savior had woken up.

"Oh thank goodness! You're awake." A woman sighed, relieved. And bowed. "Thank you! Thank you for fighting off and saving my child's life, and my own."

"Huh? Uhm, I'm not sure what I did-"

"You fought off those Evilus cultists."

"Oh, that."

"Alright miss, that's enough for now, he's still clearly confused. I'd imagine getting sniffed up by Neze would cause a few things to get mixed up." Noin said, breaking up the awkwardness of the situation. "By the way, it looks like you woke up just in time. Our captain is usually right about these kinds of things. It seems a powerful enemy is coming our way."

Off in the distance, buildings collapsed, falling to the fight of someone truly strong. And then, just as the final cultists were felled. So too was the final building revealing the source of the disturbance to be a grotesque looking man. He was clearly unstable in more ways than one.

"AHAHAHA! YES! This is perfect! I get another chance at killing you!!!"

"What is that thing?!"

"It sorta looks like a disfigured Vito."

"That's not possible, he was a level 4 just half a year ago, not even Origin Wolf himself has a growth rate that high! This thing is borderline level 7."

"Oh, but you see it is possible!" The grotesque Vito snickered, and… Like any villain with a large ego began to explain. "My glorious god! Erebus, the Absolute Evil has granted unto me, more power! The power to kill! And Kill! To paint the world with color! A world with no more gray. Just wonderful hues of red."

"You're insane."

"Thank you. Now then, shall we get started? I missed my chance to kill you last time, all thanks to those two interlopers. With them gone, do you stand a chance?"

Ardee put a hand into her pouch, gently rubbing the monster crystal from that one noble wolf, the one her husband gave her, and the one that gave its very life in an attempt to protect her. She began casting her buffing spell on herself, and took a few steps forward, slowly.

"Alise, I'm going to kill him myself."

"But!"

"I need to prove to myself that I at least have the strength to avenge my children. Besides, this fight won't go the same as last time." Ardee said with a fire in her eyes, one that burned with a furious rage, yet a smile on her lips, and a tear rolling down each cheek.

"Oh, interesting? Not like it matters, The rest of you will be busy dealing with him. Come on out Barca, and bring in those cool things!"

Barca arrived, piloting some sort of metal framed magical item. It's shape, oddly humanoid, and more than that, there were a handful of artificial golems at play as well.
