The Rakian Soldiers looked up almost in a single uniform action. There, floating in the air was the figure of a man, he was stretching in a few different ways as if preparing to fight. He had an aura about him. One so intense it felt… god-like.
Ares peaked out from his cowering position, his eyes widened… An action the current ruling king of Rakia mimicked. Each of them turned to each other, blinked, and turned back to look at the figure.
""It's Gale from the Zeus Familia!"" Ares and King Martinus shouted out in a freaky unison, each remembering how many times their attacks on Orario were blown away by the man they'd just named.
The man in the sky chuckled for a moment, and then relaxed. "That's right. I'm back, reborn as something else."
"I thought you died in the battle almost 15 years ago?" Ares said with a rather curious expression, then he noticed the aura, his eyes widened for the second time. Seriously any larger and he might as well have been a character from some anime with those giant eyeballs. "You're a Spirit?"
"Ah, I'm a Grand Spirit now. I would appreciate it if you didn't discount the effort it took my soul to survive this expansion. Hurt like… uh, well like this…" He re-enacted a few of his actions while in Tenkai, though there was something about it that was difficult to handle.
Ares noticed it right away… "Are you sure that it's not just you going on a peeping spree around the goddesses there?"
Gale blushed hard as could be, and the poor group of dragons lost consciousness after a while as the storm had accelerated significantly.
"You're not supposed to say that!" Gale shouted, he was fuming with embarrassment. "The punishments were more embarrassing than being labeled a pervert!"
"I know!" Ares said with a knowing smirk, and then leaned back with a powerful laugh. He really did know exactly what Gale was talking about. "Let me guess, they did the turn around, the upside down, and then the twist in and turn out, right?"
Gale didn't want to admit it, but nodded. Meanwhile everyone else was completely incapable of understanding what Ares meant.
"Hey, is that some sort of secret language made by perverts, for perverts?"
"I dunno? Whatever it is, they both got it."
"Well, we can rule out pervert language then…"
"Huh? Why?"
"Because you didn't know it, why else?"
"What, how is going to the brothel once a month being a pervert!?"
"Well there it is, he admitted it. So, which lady do you fancy?"
The mood had very quickly been changed, the presence of one man had completely flipped the situation on the head. And then, just like that, once the storm Gale had whipped up was finished, the few remaining intact dragons were completely reduced to massive bodies of lethargy.
Yet, they were far from safe, because just as suddenly as the mood shifted towards joy… There was a sudden sense of utter dread, as if total destruction was heading their way.
Gale turned in the direction it was coming from. "Damn, that kid really grew a lot… Even I can't handle a few seconds against that thing on my own…"
As for the others in the area, what they saw was the briefest glimpse of utter terror. An entanglement of two massive figures, rolling in a ball of mutually exchanged slashes, bites, and other magical attacks. Each attack packed so much power, the mind of anyone below level 10 would scarcely comprehend it, let alone the rank-in-file soldier.
It was only a brief moment, but the sheer pressure of their presence was more than enough to make the knees weak, and the mind blank.
The dragon took advantage of the moment to fire off destructive attacks towards the people, all of which were blocked by powerful barriers.
The wolf also took advantage of the moment to destroy some of the stronger dragons nearby… Most of his attacks actually managed to land though, which instilled a greater fury from the dragon he was currently fighting.
Gale turned his head as they passed him by, it was then he felt it. He was going to act the moment he got the chance.
"Well, that sure was terrifying, the damn thing grew stronger than it was when we went to fight it." He sighed. "Or, at the very least it's using far more power now than it did before… It's insulting…" He continued, gritting his teeth. "Now then, I'll be hanging out here for a while, at least until I get the signal."
"Good! Most Excellent! You can tell me all about your peeping stories! Who'd you see!?"
"Marius, bring the good wine for our guest."
Marius put a palm to his face in a rather quick, and hard fashion. "This god is going to take years off of my life…"
"What was that?" Ares asked, with an eccentric expression.
"I'll grab the finest for you, Gale the Pervy Wind!"
"No need to, I'll drink when my familia is reunited. And when that dragon is good and gone." Gale said, raising a hand. His eyes trailing the new landscape… "This battle's effects will echo across ages, regardless of history books or not. For it is carved into the very landscape of the world." He said, remaining on watch. "I'll stay here to remain ever watchful."
"I've got some beautiful ladies here who'd just love to spend some time with you, the Pervy Wind!" Martinus laughed.
"Enticing! Yet I must decline. For now anyway…" He said as he got ready to defend from another large group of dragons. "I swear, it's like there's no end to them! He's really making us work hard to deal with this threat."
"Huh?"
"Don't worry about it. Just get ready to make distraction efforts."
And so, the battle began in Rakia once more. Though, with Gale there, a man who'd become a Grand Spirit, one with a vendetta against these creatures in particular… It wasn't much of a battle, and more of a one-sided demonstration for a man to gain the cathartic feeling of vengeance, even if only vicariously… In other words, a bloodbath. He would soon earn the new nickname, Blood Wind.
