Chapter 3 - The lost child

Chapter 3- The lost child

Lisa POV

As soon as I heard him, I felt like I was going to collapse. My legs and body got weak and fainted, falling to the ground.

Everything went dark and I couldn't feel or think anymore.

At that moment, I wanted to give up on life and live in the darkness forever.

I didn't want to open my eyes or get up. I just wanted to escape from my harsh reality.

A bucket of cold water filled with ice was thrown on me, shocking me back to consciousness.

I slowly opened my eyes, but everything seemed blurry. I tried to focus and eventually I could see clearly.

"You slut! What is that thing in your stomach" she yelled as she dragged me by my clothes to my feet.

I felt disoriented and was trying to maintain balance when I felt a slap on my face.

Julian held my neck and pushed me hard to the wall, "You're so cheap! Do you think I will love you and treat you differently because you have that bastard in you?"

I tried to resist while gasping for breath, "I-i'm sorry. Please" I begged.

He released me and pushed me to the floor, "You are going to get rid of that bastard in your stomach".

Evelyn added, "Julian, I can't believe you still get intimate with this filthy thing. I'm so disappointed".

"Please, let me just keep the baby. I will not disturb you, I will do whatever you want me to do, a-anything at all" I begged with tears flowing from my eyes.

I felt confused not knowing if I was doing the right thing by keeping and training a child in this darkness I live in.

But all that mattered to me, was to protect my baby from them.

Julian approached me and slapped me hard again, his hands imprinting a mark on my face.

"How dare you talk back at me when I'm talking? The nerves…" he was cut off by Evelyn.

"Julian, there is no need to waste your time on that trash. I will take care of her".

Evelyn went to the kitchen and brought a glass of pineapple juice and handed it to me.

I knew that her intention was not pure so I refused to drink it and questioned her.

"What did you put in here? I'm not drinking it" I said as I tried to pour the glass away but Evelyn collected it from me.

She slapped me hard on the same spot Julian hit me.

"Wow, where did you get the audacity from to question me?".

She continued, "You don't have a choice but to drink this juice I gave you".

She pinned me down trying to force the drink into my mouth while Julian also helped her.

He held my hands to my back in a tight grip, I struggled but I was too weak for them and eventually Evelyn forced the drink into my mouth.

I tried to throw it but she covered my mouth and forced me to swallow it.

When the struggle was over, I cried bitterly and she whispered into my ear.

"The work is done. You must be really stupid to think we will accept that thing into our family" she said as they both walked away leaving me to swim in my own pool of blood.

I just layed on the floor in pain as I watched myself losing blood and my baby.

Thirty minutes later, Julian signaled one of the guards to take me to the hospital after laying in my own pool of blood.

I was so weak and pale from losing too much blood. I couldn't talk or say anything. Slowly I started losing my vision and eventually my eyes closed.

I felt myself being moved in a trolley with a doctor slapping my face and shouting, "Open your eyes! Stay awake!".

Few hours later, I woke up and saw Harrison by my side laying his head on the bed.

I moved my fingers, still unable to move my whole body yet.

He quickly woke up just by my touch, "Lyra, how are you? I'm so sorry. I will not spare Julian for this" he said with so much anger in his face.

I looked around, my eyes scanning to see if Julian was present at the hospital.

Harrison noticed I was looking for someone and he said, "Julian is not here, so relax".

I felt relaxed and asked, "Please how is my baby? I am ready now, for the offer you proposed to me. I will.."

Harrison cut me off, "Lyra plase just relax. The doctor said you need enough rest".

I continued, "I don't care what the doctor said, is my baby safe? Please!" I yelled as tears came rushing down my eyes.

"Please talk to me, tell me he is safe" I said holding Harrison's shirt firmly.

The look on his face told me something was wrong but I wished for a little hope.

"I'm sorry" I cut him off.

"No! No!" I said yelling in pain as I tried to removed the drips on my hands.

"Lyra, please stop. Doctor! Help!" Harrison shouted as he held me tight, trying to prevent me from hurting myself.

I resisted as I shouted, "No! Why is my life so pathetic? I can't take this anymore! Let me go!"

A female doctor came rushing in, as she injected with something that made me feel weak and sleepy.

I tried to stay awake but the injection was too strong and I couldn't fight it but before I fell asleep I saw a blurry vision of Julian staring at me with a smile on his face.

Just as I was about flipping another page, I heard a knock on the door but before I could get the door, the door handle opened.

I quickly hid the diary under the pillow and stood up looking confused as I saw the person that walked in.

He rushed me with a warm and tight hug, patting my hair.

"Where have you been? I was so worried about you. Don't worry, I will protect you and you're leaving with me today. I will not let you spend another day here".

I wondered, "Could this be Harrison in my sister's diary?"
