Chapter 2 - Prologue (2) - The Author

Since I was a child, I have had strange dreams. Those dreams told of different worlds and different stories. I was completely engrossed in every one of them.

The people and their challenges became like a second life to me. So I couldn't hold myself back and began writing everything down.

At first it was only at the corner of my math manuals. Then, in a shabby notebook.

Until I started writing for my profit. Writing to publish online, I didn't stop.

This stories need to be told, I can't be the only one to know them!

That was my reasoning. Ignoring my parents pleas to focus my life on something else, I focused on writing my dreams.

For years.

"Don't you think you should take a break? Come on! It will be fun, a two-month vacation at a good hotel, just you and me, huh? What do you think?"

My boyfriend had proposed such a thing. Him. The love of my life and the only person, no, the only thing more important than my dreams.

I decided to go with him. After all, the dreams could wait for her, but he might not.

She wrote a single chapter before going and started packing.

"Why did you kill him off? You didn't need to end the novel just because we are going on vacation, you know?"

"I know. It's just to mess with my readers a little. Seriously, maybe they need a vacation as well?"

"Hahaha, you are right!"

I lied.

What I wrote was always what I dreamed of. Of course, the protagonist didn't die there instead he would unlock a new power at the start of the next chapter and finally kill the final boss.

"Geez, they seem really riled up about this. Shouldn't we at least give them an explanation?"

"Why should I? I'm on vacation, aren't I?"

"We still haven't left the apartment, but you are right."

On the next day, a man knocked down our door and barged in with two guns.

He wanted me to rewrite it. But why would I? That was not the end anyway. And even if it were, she would never write something different from her dream.

"Calm down! The novel doesn't end like that, I'm going on vacation with my boyfriend. When I come back, I will write a new chapter, ok? So sit tight and wait for the chapter."

"Boyfriend?"

He seemed to focus on the wrong part of my speech.

His face twisted in anger and pain as if he was being NTR'ed.

He started spouting nonsense about who I should love, but I ignored him, I was more worried about what my boyfriend had in mind.

Suddenly, he sprang forth, throwing something at the crazy fan.

My breath got stuck for a moment, ready to see my lover with a bullet through his head, but the shot never came.

I felt a force throwing her to the bathroom before hearing the door shut.

It seemed like he had locked me in here and started saying something, but before I could process what.

BANG!

Cold. That's how I felt. I felt empty. He was dead. Because of me and my unhealthy obsession with my dreams.

Bang!

Another bang this time was not a gun. But my head had hit the ground. Tears fell from my eyes as grief embraced all my being.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Soon, I hit my head so many times I didn't know if I died or not.

It didn't matter anyway. Even if she met him in her next life, she wouldn't be able to look him in the eye.

Suddenly a voice called out.

"Daphne Frost! Wake up, right now!"
