Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Void of Greats

Shin plopped on the floor. He steadied his breathing as Bael drew a prayer circle around him.

"Try and stay calm in there. I heard it can get hectic," Satel warned.

Satel and the chief walked out of the room leaving Bael alone with Shin.

"Good luck."

Bael walked out the room and locked the door.

Shin let out one last breath and opened his eyes. Nothing. He saw nothing. He heard nothing.

An endless expanse without shape or horizon. Void.

The air—or what passed for it—clung weightless to his skin, neither warm nor cold, simply absent.

Shin got up. His head buzzed as the void clung to him.

Shin frantically searched through the absence. He walked through the darkness for what felt like eons.

Every step felt meaningless, swallowed by nothingness as if he hadn't moved at all.

"What the hell is going on?" Shin cursed as he begrudgingly walked.

No particular destination in sight. He just walked through the void.

Well shit. Why did I listen to her , now I'm fuckin lost.

Shin paused. His eyes stayed fixated on something unseen.

The void before him shifted into a tall humanoid figure. Shin instinctively walked towards the figure but the more he did the further figure was.

"Seriously!" Shin ran faster.

The distance grew further and further. Shin stopped.

His heart pounded as it raced to slow down.

"Fine. If you won't let me get close to you then tell me who you are," Shin called out In a raspy voice.

The figure walked closer to Shin. It became more clear as it got to him.

Finally, it was right infront of him. It towered over him. Even though it had no face, Shin could clearly see a smile on it.

Shin stared into the figure. His eyes cold and indifferent.

The figure walked into Shin. The darkness wrapped around him like a thick blanket of Shadows.

Then boom- a bright light blinded Shin. Searing heat stabbed like daggers into his eyes.

When his became normal, he found himself in a unfamiliar environment.

He was standing in a blazing battle field. His eyes wondered onto his hands and his blood ran cold.

A sword was lodged in his chest.

"You were a great king Faldrin, but the goddess paid well."

Before Shin could look at the person speaking he was gone.

He appeared in a dark room. No one but him was there. He couldn't move, his limbs were stiff.

The silence was deafening, louder than any scream.

His eyes wandered through the dark-dimly lit room and landed on a mirror. He narrowed his eyes.

He was a woman. Well the body he currently inhabited belonged to a woman.

Before he could register- the light came once more.

Shin hid his eyes. A few minutes passed and Shin opened his eyes. He was back in the void.

Though he noticed it was not the same void. He could see here. Clearly.

"Welcome Shin. I was wondering when you were getting here."

Shin glanced up. Straight forward, right across him was a half circle of eleven thrones. All had were seated.

Shin's lips curled into a smile as he walked into the half circle. All the demons seated stared at him.

Shin stopped as he stood before the familiar figure that had called him out.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Demon God," Shin bowed to him.

The demon God stood up. All eyes turned to him.

"We're not done yet," the demon God's voice rumbled through the void.

Shin looked up, eyes widening as his vision went black.
