Synopsis
After waking up in Paldea, Akira Hayashi did the only sensible thing, he became a Trainer… purely for the fun of it. One year (and several accidental victories) later, he cleared the Champion Assessment. Beat the Elite Four. Defeated Top Champion Geeta in front of a cheering stadium and thousands of livestream viewers. Then on stage, still covered in burn marks and confetti, he promptly retired much to Geeta's dismay. All Akira wanted was a slow life of berry farming, brunch with his Pokémon, maybe brushing Luxray in the afternoon sun while arguing with a Ceruledge over kitchen etiquette. Unfortunately, fate disagreed. Just as he was about to settle into a peaceful plot of farmland outside Medali, his long-delayed “cheat system” finally kicked in. Too little, too late. And now it wants him to cultivate the next great Champion? It is more of snarky roommate than a cosmic gift of power. He just wants to cultivate Cheri Berries. To top it off, he’s been roped into part-time teaching at Naranja Academy.. Welcome to Akira’s semi-retired life, where the battles are unscheduled, the neighbors have horns and hooves , and peace and quiet are just rumors. --------------------------------------------------- Note : This fanfic blends game and anime canon with cozy vibes, oddball humor, and original worldbuilding. The system exists but mostly stays in the background. Expect slice-of-life serenity, punctuated by Pokémon chaos. I do not own any characters other than my OC. All of them belong to Nintendo company. --------------------------------------------------- Tags: Pokémon | Paldea | Slice of Life | Medali Farm Life | Accidental Champion | Naranja Academy | Farming with Pokémon | Retired Protagonist | Background System | Chill + Chaos

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. Paldea's Champion

Paldea Region – Livestream Broadcast: "Supercharged Streamer!"

The chat exploded with emojis, lightning bolts, and screaming caps locked messages flying faster than a Jolteon's Quick Attack. Viewers from across the globe were already glued to their screens, their snacks forgotten.

Then the voice hit.

Bright, buzzing, unmistakably electric.

"Zzzzap! Caught your eyeballs in my Electroweb. It's your girl, Iono! Coming to you live from the top of the Paldea League Tower~!"

The camera shook a little, this was classic Iono energy and then steadied to a neon-tinted feed with overlays, spark emojis, and the familiar face of the streamer winking into the lens.

"Good mornafterevening, my lit Litwicks and zippy Zebstrikas! You're just in time for today's voltage-charged showdown!"

A pixelated lightning bolt zipped across the screen before cutting to the real view.

"In this corner, the steel-souled monarch of Paldea, Chairwoman Geeta!"

"And across from her, the surprise challenger - Akira Hayashi!"

*Cue dramatic, synth-infused orchestral sting.*

The camera panned high above the Paldea League Tower, perched on the cliffs northwest of Mesagoza. The arena loomed like a futuristic colosseum with grand, tech-lined, and echoing with anticipation.

The field told its own story: shattered tiles, scorched patches, deep skid marks, and fragments of fur and shell left behind by earlier blows. A battlefield that had seen serious elemental warfare.

"This isn't just a pokemon battle," Iono said, leaning closer to the mic. "It's the final stage of the Champion Assessment! One win stands between Akira and the title, that is assuming Geeta doesn't fry him first."

The audience stands were packed. Fans waved flags, wore light-up jerseys, and held up signs from "Team Akira" to "Geeta's Got This." Drones buzzed overhead, catching every angle as the crowd pulsed with energy.

"Can you believe it?" Iono chimed. "This is the guy who accidentally passed the Champion test, and he's one battle away from rewriting his story."

The music dipped. Wind whipped across the tower's rooftop. The camera zoomed in, as the two Trainers stood at opposite ends, still and focused, their capes stirring in the breeze.

And then, silence reined just for a heartbeat.

"Let the climax... BEGIN!"

The battlefield was chaos.

Flashes of lightning carved the sky open as the final battle of the Paldea Champion Assessment reached its critical point. The air crackled with heat and tension. From the stands, the roar of thousands thundered like a tidal wave, with fans clutching signs, streamers waving Poké Ball glowsticks, and League officials holding their breath behind mirrored shades.

On the arena floor, scattered in a jagged ring, faintly glowing violet Toxic Spikes shimmered ominously , they were laid like a trap hours before, lingering like an omen. Every cracked tile, every scorched patch on the League Tower's rooftop was a scar from the war waged here tonight.

And now, in it two titans stood.

On one end stood Glimmora, Chairwoman Geeta's enigmatic ace, floated like a deadly flower in bloom. Its crystalline petals pulsed with dangerous light, its poison-laced core spinning slowly, calculating.

On the other stood Luxray, its black mane bristling, arcs of electricity licking the air around it. Veils of venom pulsed under its fur, like an agonizing reminder of the traps it had charged through, but its posture was pure defiance. Golden eyes locked on its target, unwavering.

The camera drones zoomed in, catching sweat glistening on trainers' brows, capturing every spark, every twitch.

In the crowd, even Iono, who was streaming live from her floating cam-drone, had momentarily gone silent.

Then came the call.

"Wild Charge!"

Akira Hayashi's voice cut clean through the storm of noise. Clad in simple jeans and a sweat-dampened tee, his gaze never wavered. Calm. Collected. Absolute belief in his partner.

Luxray's eyes lit like twin suns.

The electricity built up fast, first with a hum, then as a crackle, then a roar. Blue-gold arcs wrapped Luxray's frame like armor as it lunged forward, paws shredding tile and stone with every leap. The static clung to the air, raising every hair on every neck in the audience.

Then,

"Muddy Water."

Geeta's voice, smooth as ever, sharp as a blade. No panic. No hesitation. Just icy precision.

Glimmora responded instantly. A surge of thick, sludgy liquid burst from beneath its petals, turning the battlefield into a toxic swamp. The wave moved like it had weight and will, it was a shimmering tide of filth that slammed forward, dousing the lightning bolt mid-charge.

Luxray's pace faltered. Its legs sank slightly in the mire, the poison within it screaming, every muscle seizing.

And still, it growled.

Its gaze flicked up to met Akira's.

There it was, trust. Forged through countless routes, fights, and close calls. Through lazy afternoons napping under trees and desperate battles under stormy skies. The unspoken message passed between them - Don't stop, Not now.

The crowd gasped as Luxray powered forward.

Its mane flared bright, sparks igniting in wild lashes, cutting through the muddy torrent. Toxic liquid hissed and boiled off its body as Luxray roared, releasing an echo of desperation and will.

Geeta's expression twitched, barely. But the sharp observer would've caught it.

Glimmora hovered higher, petals spinning faster. Spikes began forming again, but it was too late.

Luxray leapt forward and crashed into Glimmora.

The impact was cataclysmic.

A bolt of living voltage collided with crystalline toxin. The explosion turned night into noon, producing a blinding white, a shockwave so fierce it seemed to crack the sky dome above the arena. The League Tower trembled. Lighting rigs flickered. Spectators clutched their seats as the air filled with the acrid stench of burnt ozone and chemical sludge.

For a moment, all was still.

Then, the dust began to settle.

Luxray persevered and stood with its chest heaving, legs trembling, mane still sizzling with fading sparks.

Across from it… Glimmora's petals were cracked. Its glow faded. Its body hit the ground with a glass-like shatter.
