Chapter 18 - Chapter 16: The Calm Before the Storm

The bright sun cast warm, golden hues over the verdant plains and shimmering lakes of Naboo. But beneath the planet's serene beauty, tension simmered like a coiled beast ready to strike.

Fed up with the endless bureaucratic delays of the Galactic Senate, Queen Amidala had returned to her homeworld determined to rally the native Gungans against the looming Trade Federation invasion. The uneasy truce between the Naboo and the Gungans had long frayed, but the threat to their shared homeland forced a fragile reconciliation.

Amidala and Revan met Boss Nass in the hidden Gungan city of Otoh Gunga, far from the reach of the Federation's forces, to forge an alliance between Naboo's exiled defenders and the proud Gungan warriors.

Amidala knelt respectfully before Boss Nass, her voice steady but humble. "Our people face a grave threat. Only together can we hope to defend Naboo. Will you lend us your aid?"

Boss Nass regarded her with wary eyes, the centuries-old mistrust between their peoples still evident. After a long silence, he finally responded, "The time for old grudges is past. If the Federation threatens Naboo, it threatens us all. We will fight by your side."

With the alliance forged, Revan and Amidala turned to strategy. The vast holographic map spread across the chamber glowed softly, illuminating their determined faces.

Revan's experience and calm demeanor brought a steadying influence to the uneasy coalition.

"The Gungans know the terrain," Revan explained. "Their forces can strike through the swamps and tunnels, hitting the Federation from unexpected angles. We will synchronize their attack with the Naboo ground forces to divide the enemy's attention."

Boss Nass nodded approvingly. "My warriors are ready. The Federation will be caught off guard."

Revan added, "Communication between the groups must be seamless. I will coordinate the efforts to ensure we move as one."

Amidala's eyes met Revan's. "Thank you, Revan. Your guidance gives me hope."

As the final plans took shape, Revan's thoughts darkened with the knowledge that the true danger might come from beyond the battlefield—the shadow of the Sith. His senses had already detected a powerful dark presence lurking nearby, and he knew that the confrontation with Darth Maul was inevitable.

Meanwhile, back at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the halls echoed with the sounds of lighthearted chaos. Naruto Uzumaki, ever the master of mischief, launched one last prank before Revan's departure—a carefully orchestrated series of holodroid-triggered sound effects in the training chambers. The sudden roars of Wookiees and beeps of astromechs startled even the most disciplined Jedi, provoking laughter and mild exasperation.

Shaak Ti, unexpectedly roped into the prank war, shook her head with an amused smile. "Naruto, you and your accomplices are impossible."

Naruto grinned. "Just keeping spirits high."

Their lighthearted rebellion earned them a humorous punishment: extended meditation sessions and scrubbing holocron archives—tasks that were met with feigned groans but genuine smiles.

Later, Naruto found a quiet balcony overlooking the cityscape, his thoughts with Revan. Come back safe, Revan, he whispered. And bring me stories of your battles.

Back on Naboo, as the twin moons rose and the Gungan city prepared for war, Revan took up his dual lightsabers, practicing the fluid and deadly Jar'Kai form. Each motion was precise, a dance of lethal grace born from years of experience.

The memory of sensing Darth Maul's dark presence sent a shiver down his spine. The upcoming duel would test every skill he possessed.

The calm before the storm was fading fast.

As dawn broke over the swamps and plains, the allied forces stood poised on the edge of battle. Revan's voice rang out as he gave final orders to the Gungan and Naboo forces, his calm authority inspiring confidence.

The battle for Naboo was about to begin.
